Used 2023 Mazda MAZDA3 for Sale nearPeterborough, ON

How much does the 2023 Mazda MAZDA3 cost?

Prices have softened 9.15% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 175 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Mazda MAZDA3 a good car?

Generally — the 2023 Mazda MAZDA3 earns a 4/5 user rating and an 8.17/10 expert rating, which points to a strong overall package. The standout strength is Look and feel at 10/10.

It stands out for its upscale interior, sharp, refined handling and acceleration, and helpful cargo space, especially if you want a compact car that feels more polished than basic. The hatchback body style adds SUV-like versatility through its rear liftgate and extra cargo usefulness.

The trade-offs are clear: the infotainment system is frustrating to use, and the large C-pillar limits rear visibility. For shoppers who value driving feel and a premium atmosphere more than tech polish, that balance can still make a lot of sense.

34.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which is a decent sign of market opportunity.

Is the 2023 Mazda MAZDA3 reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2023 Mazda MAZDA3 is presented as a car that delivers luxury-level performance and cabin quality without the luxury price, and that usually helps confidence in day-to-day ownership. Its refined driving character and strong expert score also support the idea that it is built to satisfy buyers over time.

The performance tuning is a major part of its dependability story: it is described as communicative, refined, and comfortable for the daily commute rather than harsh or overly demanding. That kind of balance often matters to used buyers because it can make the car easier to live with as the kilometres add up.

If you buy used, the biggest long-term ownership risk is not mechanical drama but frustration with the technology and rear visibility.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Mazda MAZDA3?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The GX starts with 16-inch alloy wheels, heated front seats, power-adjustable side mirrors with integrated turn signals, pushbutton start, keyless entry, two USB ports, and an 8.8-inch infotainment display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The GS adds dual-zone automatic climate control and a leather-wrapped heated steering wheel, while the Luxury package brings synthetic leather upholstery, a power-adjustable driver’s seat with memory, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a moonroof. The GT adds 18-inch alloy wheels, paddle shifters, a head-up display, navigation, and genuine leather upholstery.
• Powertrain: The base engine is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder with 155 horsepower and 150 pound-feet of torque. A 2.5-litre naturally aspirated engine makes 191 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque, and the turbocharged 2.5-litre makes 227 hp and 310 lb-ft on regular fuel or 250 hp and 320 lb-ft with premium fuel.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. The GS adds forward automatic emergency braking, automatic cruise control, pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic high beams, lane-departure warning, and rain-sensing windshield wipers. The GT adds adaptive headlights, traffic-sign recognition, traffic jam assist, and a 360-degree parking camera system.
• Infotainment: The standard 8.8-inch display is operated by a rotary dial rather than touch input, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included. The system does not offer wireless smartphone integration or over-the-air capability in the provided information.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada estimates for the base 2.0-litre engine range from 7.6 to 7.8 L/100 km combined, while the non-turbo 2.5-litre ranges from 7.6 to 8.1 L/100 km combined. The turbo averages 8.8 L/100 km combined in the sedan and 8.9 L/100 km combined in the hatchback.

Which 2023 Mazda MAZDA3 trim should I buy?

The 2023 Mazda MAZDA3 is offered in 4 trim levels: GX, GS, GT, and GT Turbo.

Here's the short version:

• GX: This is the entry point, and it already gives you heated front seats, keyless entry, pushbutton start, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the Mazda3 experience, but you should expect fewer comfort and safety features than the higher trims.
• GS: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds dual-zone automatic climate control and a leather-wrapped heated steering wheel, with the available Luxury package bringing a power driver’s seat, synthetic leather upholstery, memory settings, an auto-dimming mirror, and a moonroof. It is the sweet spot if you want a more premium feel without jumping to the top trims.
• GT: This trim layers on 18-inch alloy wheels, paddle shifters, a head-up display, navigation, and genuine leather upholstery. It is the right choice if you want the most upscale non-turbo Mazda3 experience and are willing to pay for it.
• GT Turbo: This is the performance-focused choice, with the more powerful turbocharged engine and standard automatic transmission and AWD. It suits you best if stronger acceleration matters more than fuel economy.

The GT grade also adds the most advanced safety features, including adaptive headlights, traffic-sign recognition, traffic jam assist, and a 360-degree parking camera system.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Mazda MAZDA3?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully and compare listings.

• Deal availability: 34.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 175 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.15% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $25,145 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Mazda MAZDA3's resale value?

The current average of $25,194 CAD sits slightly below last year's $27,732 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you as a buyer but may pressure future resale values if you plan to sell soon. For a future seller, the upside is that the Mazda3 still has strong appeal thanks to its upscale feel and engaging driving character.

If demand stays steady, well-kept examples should remain attractive to shoppers who want a compact car with a premium personality. Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Mazda MAZDA3 safe?

The 2023 Mazda MAZDA3 earns a Top Safety Pick rating from the IIHS and five-star ratings in its front crash tests and rollover test from NHTSA.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, while the GS adds forward automatic emergency braking, automatic cruise control, pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic high beams, lane-departure warning, and rain-sensing windshield wipers. The GT adds adaptive headlights, traffic-sign recognition, traffic jam assist, and a 360-degree parking camera system.

The main caveat is the hatchback’s massive C-pillar, which creates a large blind spot and can make rear visibility a real issue. The infotainment layout can also be distracting because it is difficult to use on the move.

Should I buy a 2023 Mazda MAZDA3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 34.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.15% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• It pairs upscale cabin quality with sharp, refined handling and hatchback versatility.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $22,773 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $25,194 CAD average.
• It offers stylish design, enjoyable driving manners, and strong safety ratings.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $26,641 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $25,194 CAD average.
• It adds broad configuration flexibility with sedan, hatchback, FWD, AWD, and multiple engine choices.

The bottom line: The 2023 is the right pick if you want the strongest mix of price, premium feel, and driving enjoyment. If your priority is saving money, the 2022 is the better value play; if you want more configuration flexibility and are willing to pay more, the 2024 is the better fit.
