How much does the 2023 Mazda CX-9 cost?

Is the 2023 Mazda CX-9 a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. The 2023 Mazda CX-9 is aimed at you if you want a three-row SUV that prioritises driving enjoyment, a premium interior, and stylish design over maximum space. Its trade-offs are clear: it is smaller inside than class leaders, and the ride is on the firm side. Even so, if you value a polished cabin and a more engaging feel than most family crossovers, it fits that brief well. With 27.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Mazda CX-9 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2023 Mazda CX-9 is presented as a polished, appealing three-row SUV with a premium feel and a sporty character. Its reputation for being less straightforward in daily use comes more from usability than from mechanical concerns, with the infotainment system described as unintuitive and the control setup taking some adjustment. For used buyers, that means the main long-term ownership risk is more about living with its packaging and interface than about its core appeal.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Mazda CX-9?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 27.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 165 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.01% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $32,785 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Mazda CX-9's resale value?

The current average of $33,175 CAD sits slightly below last year's $37,705 CAD.

That price movement suggests the CX-9 has already given up some value, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to sell soon. For a future seller, the softer market means you may need to price competitively to stand out. The CX-9’s premium feel and strong owner satisfaction can still help support demand when it is time to list.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Mazda CX-9 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 27.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.01% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $31,317 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $33,175 CAD average.
• It offers a more luxurious feel with standard all-wheel drive.

The bottom line: Choose the 2023 if you want the newer model-year pricing context and are focused on the CX-9’s style, premium cabin, and engaging road manners. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2022 is the better value play because it costs less while still delivering the CX-9’s upscale character.
