How much does the 2023 Mazda CX-30 cost?

Prices have softened 4.33% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 365 listings available, which suggests a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Mazda CX-30 a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Mazda CX-30 earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.67/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 9/10.

It stands out as a small crossover that leans hard into style, a classy and high-quality interior, and driving manners that are more enjoyable than many buyers expect from a subcompact SUV. The trade-off is that rear-seat space is cramped and cargo room is limited, so it suits you best if you value design and driving enjoyment more than maximum practicality.

The market also looks supportive, with 34.0% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2023 Mazda CX-30 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The CX-30’s appeal is reinforced by its upscale cabin, standard all-wheel drive, and strong safety reputation. Its performance tuning also helps it feel polished and composed in everyday use, especially with the available turbocharged engine.

Mazda’s standard maintenance coverage can help reduce early ownership friction when you’re shopping used. For a used buyer, the main long-term risk is that the same premium feel comes with a cramped back seat, limited cargo space, and an infotainment setup that may frustrate you over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Mazda CX-30?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The GX is the most basic version, while the GS, GT, and GT Turbo add more upscale materials and features. The lower trims use cloth seats, and the GS can be optioned with leatherette, so you should check whether the cabin equipment matches your expectations.
• Powertrain: The GX uses a 2.0-litre engine, the GS and GT use a 2.5-litre engine, and the GT Turbo adds a turbocharged 2.5-litre setup. All versions use a six-speed automatic and all-wheel drive, and the turbo model is the one to focus on if you want the strongest acceleration.
• Safety package: Mazda’s safety suite includes blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert on the GX, while the GS adds adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and automatic high-beam headlights. The GT and GT Turbo add a surround-view camera, parking sensors, automatic rear braking, traffic sign recognition, traffic jam assist, and a head-up display.
• Infotainment: You get an 8.8-inch display, Bluetooth, HD Radio, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, two USB ports, and connected services. The system does not have a touchscreen, and the controls can take some getting used to, so make sure you’re comfortable with the interface before you buy.
• Fuel efficiency: The 2.5-litre engine is rated at 8.2 L/100 km combined, while the test vehicle averaged 10.0 L/100 km on evaluation. The turbocharged model can use regular fuel, but premium unlocks its full output.

Which 2023 Mazda CX-30 trim should I buy?

The 2023 Mazda CX-30 is offered in 4 trim levels: GX, GS, GT, and GT Turbo.

Here's the short version:

• GX: This is the entry point, and it gives you standard all-wheel drive plus the core safety items like blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the CX-30, but it leaves out several of the more useful driver-assistance features.
• GS: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the key safety and convenience upgrades, including adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and automatic high-beam headlights. It also brings the stronger 2.5-litre engine, which makes the CX-30 feel more complete.
• GT: Choose this if you want a more premium experience, since it adds the surround-view camera, parking sensors, automatic rear braking, traffic sign recognition, traffic jam assist, and a head-up display. It suits you best if you want more comfort and driver-assistance tech without going all the way to the turbo model.
• GT Turbo: This is the performance-focused choice, with the turbocharged 2.5-litre engine and the most advanced equipment. It is the most expensive option, so it makes the most sense if you specifically want stronger acceleration and are willing to pay for it.

The GS and GT are the trims that stand out as the strongest value picks, while the GT Turbo is the one to choose if you want the most power and the fullest feature set.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Mazda CX-30?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully and compare listings.

• Deal availability: 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 365 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.33% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $27,807 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Mazda CX-30's resale value?

The current average of $27,810 CAD sits slightly below last year's $29,070 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more selectively today. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, trim, and equipment level rather than on broad market momentum alone. Well-equipped versions with stronger appeal should be easier to move than bare-bones examples.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Mazda CX-30 safe?

The 2023 Mazda CX-30 earns a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Mazda improved side-impact crash protection this year with standard rear side airbags and outboard rear seatbelt tensioners. On the GX, you get blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, while the GS adds adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and automatic high-beam headlights. The GT and GT Turbo add a surround-view camera, front and rear parking sensors, automatic rear braking, traffic sign recognition, traffic jam assist, and a head-up display.

One caveat is that some of the most useful driver-assistance features are not standard on the base trim, so you need to move up the range to get the full safety package.

Should I buy a 2023 Mazda CX-30 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.33% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• This year improves side-impact protection with standard rear side airbags and outboard rear seatbelt tensioners.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $25,005 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $27,810 CAD average.
• It offers a more upscale feel than many rivals.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $29,144 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $27,810 CAD average.
• It adds a new Suna trim, USB-C charging ports, and a larger infotainment screen with wireless smartphone integration.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, safety, and overall appeal, the 2023 is the smart default. If you’re more price-sensitive, the 2022 is worth a look; if you want newer tech, the 2024 is the better path.
