How much does the 2023 Mazda CX-30 cost?

Prices have softened 3.25% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

Is the 2023 Mazda CX-30 a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Mazda CX-30 earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.67/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 9/10.

The CX-30’s appeal comes through in its attractive design, classy and high-quality interior, and enjoyable driving dynamics. It is especially compelling if you want a small crossover that feels more premium and engaging than many rivals.

The trade-offs are clear: rear-seat room is cramped and cargo space is tight, and the infotainment system is a weak point. Even so, the model’s premium-feeling cabin and rewarding road manners make it a strong fit if you value style and driving enjoyment over maximum practicality.

With 33.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is a decent amount of market value to be found.

Is the 2023 Mazda CX-30 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The CX-30’s reliability case is helped by Mazda’s emphasis on quality materials, refined driving manners, and strong safety credentials. The expert evaluation also points to a well-executed powertrain lineup and a cabin that feels carefully assembled.

Mazda’s performance notes highlight a six-speed automatic, standard all-wheel drive, and a powertrain that delivers smooth, confident everyday use. The cost-effectiveness notes also point to the CX-30 GS and GT as compelling value choices among small crossover SUVs.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the same premium positioning that makes the CX-30 appealing can also make it less forgiving if you want maximum space or a simpler infotainment experience.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Mazda CX-30?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The GX is the entry point, but the GS adds important safety equipment that the base trim lacks. The GT and GT Turbo bring more advanced convenience and driver-assistance features, while the cabin quality and upscale feel are part of the CX-30’s appeal across the range.
• Powertrain: The GX uses a 2.0-litre engine, while the GS and GT use a 2.5-litre engine with better fuel economy than before. The GT Turbo adds a turbocharged 2.5-litre engine with stronger output on premium fuel, though regular fuel is also supported.
• Safety package: Blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard on GX. GS adds adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and automatic high-beam headlights. GT and GT Turbo add an adaptive front lighting system, surround-view camera, front and rear parking sensors, automatic rear braking, traffic sign recognition, traffic jam assist, and a head-up display.
• Infotainment: The standard Mazda Connect system uses an 8.8-inch display, Bluetooth, HD Radio, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, two USB ports, and connected services. Turbos add SiriusXM satellite radio, navigation, and a 14-speaker Bose premium sound system.
• Fuel efficiency: The 2.5-litre engine is rated at 8.2 L/100 km combined, and the test vehicle averaged 10.0 L/100 km on evaluation.

Which 2023 Mazda CX-30 trim should I buy?

The 2023 Mazda CX-30 is offered in 4 trim levels: GX, GS, GT, and GT Turbo.

Here's the short version:

• GX: This is the entry trim, but it is the least equipped for safety and convenience. It makes sense only if you want the lowest starting point and are comfortable adding features elsewhere.
• GS: This is the best-value trim. It adds the key driver-assistance features missing from GX and pairs them with the more powerful 2.5-litre engine, making it the smartest all-round choice for most shoppers.
• GT: This trim builds on GS with a surround-view camera, parking sensors, automatic rear braking, traffic sign recognition, traffic jam assist, and a head-up display. It suits you if you want a more upscale and better-equipped CX-30 without going all the way to turbo power.
• GT Turbo: This is the performance-oriented choice, with the turbocharged 2.5-litre engine and the most advanced equipment. It is best if you want the strongest acceleration and are willing to pay for it.

The GS is the trim most buyers should start with, while the GT is the better pick if you want the richest mix of comfort and safety tech. The GT and GT Turbo trims add the more advanced safety package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Mazda CX-30?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully.

• Deal availability: 33.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 354 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.25% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $28,028 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Mazda CX-30's resale value?

The current average of $28,151 CAD sits slightly below last year's $29,097 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the CX-30 has become a bit more accessible for buyers, which can help keep demand steady in the near term. For a future seller, that means you may need to price competitively if the market stays soft.

The model’s premium feel, strong safety reputation, and broad appeal among small crossover shoppers should help support resale interest. Well-equipped trims may hold attention better if they are priced in line with the market.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Mazda CX-30 safe?

The 2023 Mazda CX-30 earns a Top Safety Pick rating from the IIHS.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Mazda’s safety package is a major strength here. Blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard on GX, while GS adds adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and automatic high-beam headlights. GT and GT Turbo add an adaptive front lighting system, surround-view camera, front and rear parking sensors, automatic rear braking, traffic sign recognition, traffic jam assist, and a head-up display.

A key caveat is that many of the most useful driver-assistance features are not standard on the base trim, so you need to move up the range to get the full safety suite.

Should I buy a 2023 Mazda CX-30 or consider a different year?

• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.25% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 adds improved side-impact protection with standard rear side airbags and outboard rear seatbelt tensioners.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $24,997 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $28,151 CAD average.
• It blends an upscale feel with engaging road manners.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $29,417 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $28,151 CAD average.

The bottom line: The 2023 is the best all-around pick if you want the strongest mix of safety, style, and value in this range. If your priority is saving money, the 2022 is the better budget play; if you want newer tech, the 2024 is the more modern choice.
