How much does the 2023 Lincoln Aviator cost?

Prices have softened 17.02% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 124 listings available, which gives you a useful snapshot of current inventory availability.

Is the 2023 Lincoln Aviator a good car?

Yes — you’re looking at a 5/5 user-rated SUV with an expert score of 7/10. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel and Safety.

The 2023 Lincoln Aviator is built around Lincoln’s “Quiet Flight” idea, so you should expect a calm, comfort-first three-row luxury SUV rather than something tuned for excitement. The expert test drive data highlights a quietly gliding ride, strong comfort, luxury, and high-tech features, along with great handling and an impressive stereo.

The trade-offs are clear: the electric range is unimpressive, the third row is cramped, and the technology feels outdated. Even so, if you want a relaxed upscale family SUV, the Aviator’s polished character fits that brief well.

Only 29.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market has some value opportunities, but you may need to move quickly on the right example.

Is the 2023 Lincoln Aviator reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2023 Lincoln Aviator is presented as a comfort-focused luxury SUV with a refined driving character, and the expert test drive data reinforces that it delivers a quiet, smooth experience. Its plug-in hybrid setup is described as making good use of battery charge to maximise efficiency, and the drivetrain is said to be reasonably efficient on longer trips even when you do not plug in often.

Lincoln also includes a plug-in hybrid charging advantage in the form of under-four-hour recharging on a 240-volt Level 2 station. That said, the drivetrain can be unpredictable and the brake pedal behaviour can take some getting used to, so used buyers should pay close attention to how the vehicle drives and charges in real-world use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Lincoln Aviator?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Aviator Grand Touring adds a plug-in hybrid powertrain, a 10-speed hybrid automatic transmission, a 75-kilowatt electric motor, and a 13.6-kilowatt-hour battery pack. It also brings a more upscale cabin presentation, but some of the wheel and trim choices in the test vehicle were less convincing than the rest of the vehicle’s luxury impression.
• Powertrain: The twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 is paired with a hybrid system in Grand Touring form, and the drivetrain delivers strong output with 494 horsepower and 630 pound-feet of torque. The electric range is modest, and the power delivery can feel inconsistent at times.
• Safety package: Lincoln Co-Pilot360 1.5, Co-Pilot360 1.5 Plus, and Co-Pilot360 2.0 are referenced as the available driver-aid collections. The tested vehicle included automatic high-beam adaptive-pixel headlights, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, road-sign recognition, pedestrian detection, forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert with automatic rear braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, and evasive steering assist.
• Infotainment: The Aviator uses a 10.1-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Lincoln Connect connected services, a WiFi hotspot, SiriusXM satellite radio, and navigation. It runs Sync 3 software, which feels dated, so you should test the voice controls carefully.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada says the Aviator Grand Touring uses 10.3 L/100 km combined in hybrid mode, and the test drive data also recorded 1.4 L/100 km during a battery-heavy stretch and 9.7 L/100 km over a longer evaluation.

Which 2023 Lincoln Aviator trim should I buy?

The 2023 Lincoln Aviator is offered in 2 trim levels: Reserve and Grand Touring.

Here's the short version:

• Reserve: This is the standard gas model and the trim to focus on if you want the core Aviator experience without stepping into plug-in hybrid territory. It gives you the twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre V6, 10-speed automatic transmission, and standard AWD, which makes it the cleaner choice if you want the Aviator’s quiet luxury without the added complexity of the hybrid system.
• Grand Touring: This is the best-value trim if you want the most complete version of the Aviator’s comfort-and-tech formula. It adds the plug-in hybrid system, stronger output, and the most advanced equipment shown in the test drive data, but you should weigh that against the unimpressive electric range and the dated infotainment experience.

Lincoln Co-Pilot360 1.5, Co-Pilot360 1.5 Plus, and Co-Pilot360 2.0 are referenced as the available safety collections, and availability varies by trim level and option package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Lincoln Aviator?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully and compare listings.

• Deal availability: 29.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 124 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.02% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $49,269 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Lincoln Aviator's resale value?

The current average of $49,269 CAD sits slightly below last year's $59,372 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Aviator has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can be helpful if you’re buying now but less ideal if you’re planning to sell soon. For a future seller, the current market indicates that pricing will need to stay competitive to attract attention, especially given the model’s dated technology and mixed practicality. On the other hand, the Aviator’s luxury positioning and strong comfort appeal can still support demand among shoppers looking for a refined three-row SUV.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Lincoln Aviator safe?

The 2023 Lincoln Aviator earns a Top Safety Pick from the IIHS and a five-star overall rating from NHTSA.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Lincoln equips the Aviator with a standard suite of airbags and driver aids, and the tested vehicle included adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, road-sign recognition, pedestrian detection, forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert with automatic rear braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, and evasive steering assist. The data also notes that availability and features vary by trim level and option package.

One caveat is that the lane-keeping system can feel overly eager in curves, and the driver aids are less dependable in denser traffic and wider freeway settings. You should test those systems carefully on your own routes before buying.

Should I buy a 2023 Lincoln Aviator or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 29.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.02% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 stands out for its Quiet Flight character, with a calm, comfort-first driving experience, strong handling, and an impressive stereo.

The bottom line: If you want the Aviator’s serene luxury feel and you find a well-priced example, the 2023 is a sensible buy. If you are especially price-sensitive, keep shopping the market closely and compare listings carefully, because the current inventory still gives you room to find a stronger deal.
