Used 2023 Kia Forte for Sale nearSurrey, BC

How much does the 2023 Kia Forte cost?

Prices have softened 11.00% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 388 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Kia Forte a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Kia Forte earns a 4.57/5 user rating and a 6.33/10 expert rating. The model scores 7/10 across Performance, Form and function, and Cost effectiveness.

Owners repeatedly praise its stylish design, impressive fuel economy, and comfortable ride. Reviewers also describe it as reliable and fun to drive, with safety features that add to its appeal.

The trade-offs are familiar ones: the base engine is underwhelming, and some owners feel the cabin can seem a bit cheap in places, especially the trunk area.

For you, that means the Forte makes the most sense if you want an affordable compact sedan that feels well rounded rather than stripped down. It is especially appealing if comfort, value, and everyday usability matter more than outright performance.

With 28.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still offers some attractive opportunities.

Is the 2023 Kia Forte reliable?

Owners rate it 4.57/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a car that feels reliable, dependable, and easy to count on over time. That same theme shows up in the way owners describe its comfortable ride and fuel economy, which are the kinds of traits that usually support steady day-to-day ownership.

The expert assessment also reinforces that it is a sensible, value-focused compact sedan rather than a fragile or overly complicated one. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the car’s basic durability and more about choosing a trim that gives you the safety and convenience equipment you want.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Kia Forte?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Forte’s base LX trim is the most stripped-back version, while the EX adds more of the safety and driver-assistance equipment that many shoppers will want. Higher trims also bring more visual polish, larger wheels, and more upscale cabin materials, so you should check whether the features you want are standard or reserved for a higher grade.
• Powertrain: You get a 2.0-litre four-cylinder in the base car, while the GT Limited uses a 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder with more power and a sport-tuned suspension. The base setup is adequate for most drivers, but the turbo model is the one to choose if you want stronger acceleration.
• Safety package: The available driver-assistance suite includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, a driver attention monitor, a tire pressure monitoring system, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. Most of these features are not standard on the base trim, so verify the equipment level carefully.
• Infotainment: Supporting trims get an 8-inch touchscreen, while the GT-Line and GT Limited move up to a 10.25-inch display with onboard navigation. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included on all models, and Kia Connect becomes available beginning with the EX Premium trim.
• Fuel efficiency: The base 2.0-litre engine is rated at 8.2 L/100 km in city driving, 6.0 on the highway, and 7.2 combined. The GT Limited’s turbo 1.6-litre engine rises to 8.7 L/100 km city, 6.6 highway, and 7.8 combined.

Which 2023 Kia Forte trim should I buy?

The 2023 Kia Forte is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, EX, EX Premium, GT-Line, GT Limited.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point, and it makes sense if your priority is keeping the purchase price down. It gives you the Forte’s core value proposition, but you should expect the fewest convenience and safety features.
• EX: This is the best-value choice for most shoppers because it adds the safety and driver-assistance equipment many buyers will want without pushing the price too far. If you want a Forte that feels properly equipped, this is the trim to target.
• EX Premium: Choose this if you want to step up from the EX with more advanced convenience and assistance features, including adaptive cruise control and Kia Connect availability.
• GT-Line: This trim is the better pick if you want a more upscale tech experience, including the larger 10.25-inch display with navigation, while still staying focused on everyday use.
• GT Limited: This is the performance-oriented choice, with the turbocharged engine, sport-tuned suspension, and premium audio system. It suits you best if you want the quickest and most engaging Forte.

Most driver-assistance and safety features other than airbags and electronic stability control are not standard and begin at the EX trim.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Kia Forte?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 28.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 388 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.00% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $20,326 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Kia Forte's resale value?

The current average of $20,550 CAD sits slightly below last year's $23,090 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Forte has become more accessible for used buyers, but it also means a future seller may face a softer market than a year ago. If you buy now, you are entering at a lower average price than previous owners did, which can help reduce depreciation exposure.

For resale, the Forte’s value story will depend heavily on trim, condition, and equipment level. Better-equipped versions with the right safety and convenience features should be easier to move later than a bare-bones example.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.57/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Kia Forte safe?

The 2023 Kia Forte earns four-star ratings for overall, frontal, side, and rollover protection from NHTSA, while the IIHS awarded it Good scores in all evaluations except the updated front moderate overlap and side impact tests, which received Poor results.

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

The available driver-assistance suite includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, a driver attention monitor, a tire pressure monitoring system, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. In Canada, most of these features are not standard and begin at the EX trim, one level up from base.

A key caveat is that some base forward collision avoidance features do not meet the Administration’s performance criteria, so you should pay close attention to trim level if safety equipment matters to you.

Should I buy a 2023 Kia Forte or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 28.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.00% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.57/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It offers strong value, a comfortable ride, and available manual-transmission involvement.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $18,443 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $20,550 CAD average.
• It was updated with sharper styling and new infotainment, driver assist, and collision avoidance systems.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of value, comfort, and feature content, the 2023 is the stronger all-around pick. If your main goal is to spend less up front, the 2022 is the better budget-focused alternative.
