Used 2023 Kia Forte for Sale nearLondon, ON

How much does the 2023 Kia Forte cost?

Prices have softened 11.02% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 396 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Kia Forte a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Kia Forte earns a 4.57/5 user rating and a 6.33/10 expert rating. The model scores 7/10 across Performance, Form and function, and Cost effectiveness.

Owners consistently praise its stylish design, impressive fuel economy, and comfortable ride. The review summary also points to a reliable, fun-to-drive character that many owners feel good about living with over the long term.

That lines up with the Forte’s value-focused mission: it gives you more for the money than many rivals, while still feeling like a complete compact sedan rather than a stripped-down bargain. The main trade-offs are an underwhelming base engine and lower-than-average crash test scores.

With 33.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still offers some attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2023 Kia Forte reliable?

Owners rate it 4.57/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a reliable, dependable car that many drivers feel comfortable counting on day to day. It also highlights a trouble-free, long-term ownership experience for many shoppers, especially those who value efficiency and comfort.

From the expert side, the Forte is described as a solid, well-rounded compact sedan that feels as well-built as its rivals. That said, used buyers should still pay attention to maintenance history and condition, especially on higher-mileage examples.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Kia Forte?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base LX is the most basic version, while higher trims add more lighting, larger wheels, and a more upscale cabin. The biggest feature gaps at the lower end are the standard 8-inch screen, cloth seating, and the absence of many convenience and driver-assistance features that arrive on higher trims.
• Powertrain: You get a 2.0-litre four-cylinder in the base model, while the GT Limited upgrades to a 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder with more power and a sport-tuned suspension. The base setup is efficient and adequate, but the turbo model is the one to choose if you want stronger acceleration.
• Safety package: Kia’s Highway Driving Assist appears on the GT-Line and GT Limited, while the EX trim brings forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, a driver attention monitor, a tire pressure monitoring system, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. Some base forward collision avoidance features are flagged as not meeting the Administration’s performance criteria, so trim choice matters here.
• Infotainment: Supporting trims get an 8-inch touchscreen, while the GT-Line and GT Limited move to a 10.25-inch display with onboard navigation. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and Kia Connect connected services begin at the EX Premium trim.
• Fuel efficiency: The base 2.0-litre engine is rated at 8.2 L/100 km in city driving, 6.0 on the highway, and 7.2 combined. The GT Limited’s turbo 1.6-litre engine rises to 8.7 L/100 km city, 6.6 highway, and 7.8 combined.

Which 2023 Kia Forte trim should I buy?

The 2023 Kia Forte is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, EX, EX Premium, GT-Line, GT Limited.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point, and it makes sense if you want the lowest purchase price and are comfortable with the most basic equipment. It gives you the Forte’s core value proposition, but you’ll miss out on many of the convenience and safety upgrades found higher up the range.
• EX: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the key driver-assistance features that many buyers will want, along with a more complete everyday experience. If you want the Forte to feel properly equipped without stretching too far, this is the trim to target.
• EX Premium: Choose this if you want a more upscale tech and convenience mix, including Kia Connect connected services and additional safety support. It suits you if you want a richer feature set without jumping all the way to the sportier trims.
• GT-Line: This trim is the better pick if you want the larger 10.25-inch display with navigation and Kia’s Highway Driving Assist, while still staying focused on style and everyday usability. It adds a more premium feel without moving into full performance territory.
• GT Limited: This is the one to buy if you want the strongest acceleration, the turbocharged engine, and the most complete equipment list, including the premium audio system. It’s the right choice if you care most about performance and top-end features.

The safety package starts one level up from base, so the lower trims are the ones to scrutinise most closely if driver assistance matters to you.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Kia Forte?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 396 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.02% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $20,336 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Kia Forte's resale value?

The current average of $20,406 CAD sits slightly below last year's $22,934 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the Forte has become more accessible for used buyers, which can make it easier to move later if you buy at the right number. For a future seller, the current market indicates that value-oriented compact sedans still have appeal, but pricing discipline matters because the model has already moved down from last year’s level.

If you buy well and keep the car in strong condition, you should be better positioned when it’s time to sell. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.57/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Kia Forte safe?

The 2023 Kia Forte was awarded four-star ratings for overall, frontal, side, and rollover protection from NHTSA, and the IIHS gave it Good scores in all evaluations except the updated front moderate overlap and side impact tests, which received Poor.

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

Kia’s driver-assistance suite includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, a driver attention monitor, a tire pressure monitoring system, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. Some of those features are not standard on the base trim, so you need to move up to the EX to get the full package.

The main caveat is the weaker crash-test performance in the updated IIHS tests, along with the note that some base forward collision avoidance features did not meet the Administration’s performance criteria. If safety is a top priority, you’ll want to focus on higher trims with the fuller equipment list.

Should I buy a 2023 Kia Forte or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.02% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.57/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It offers strong value, comfort, and everyday usability in a very competitive compact-sedan class.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $18,337 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $20,406 CAD average.
• It brings updated styling and newer infotainment and driver-assist tech.

The bottom line: If you want the better-balanced buy, the 2023 is the stronger choice because it combines value, comfort, and a more favourable current price trend. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2022 is the smarter budget path, especially if you find one with the equipment you want.
