Used 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L for Sale nearCalgary, AB

How much does the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L cost?

Prices have softened 13.39% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 307 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L a good car?

Yes — it earns a 4.83/5 from owners and an 8.17/10 from our experts.

The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, Technology, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its stylish design, spaciousness, and comfortable features. They also frequently highlight strong engine performance and towing capability.

The main trade-offs are the underwhelming base engine and the irritating transmission, so the driving experience is polished overall but not perfect.

For you, that means the Grand Cherokee L makes the most sense if you want a family-friendly three-row SUV with a more premium feel than many mainstream rivals.

The market shows 32.9% good or great deals, which points to decent shopping opportunities.

Is the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L reliable?

Owners rate it 4.83/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable in daily use, with praise for its comfortable features, spaciousness, and strong performance. That kind of positive ownership experience usually matters most when you want something you can count on over time.

Jeep’s own expert assessment also frames it as a solid, well-rounded SUV rather than a fragile one, with the overall package feeling polished and capable.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the base powertrain and transmission may be less satisfying than the rest of the vehicle.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lower trims miss some of the richer interior details found higher up, while upper trims add a more upscale look and feel with features such as the optional touchscreen in the dash, gloss black accents, and more premium materials. The safety equipment also expands on higher trims, so you should compare feature content carefully before choosing.
• Powertrain: The standard 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 is the weakest part of the package, while the optional 5.7-litre Hemi V8 is smoother and better suited to towing. Four-wheel drive is standard in Canada, and Jeep offers three different 4x4 systems.
• Safety package: The Grand Cherokee L includes forward emergency braking, rear park assist and emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, and adaptive cruise control. Front cross-traffic braking, a backup camera washer, and 360-degree cameras are optional on Limited and Overland trims, while night vision is limited to Summit and Summit Reserve.
• Infotainment: Lower trims get an 8.4-inch touchscreen and a 10-inch digital instrument panel, while Limited and above move to a 10.1-inch touchscreen with navigation on the instrument panel. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard on all trim levels.
• Fuel efficiency: The V6 4x4 model is rated at 13.0 L/100 km in the city, 9.4 on the highway, and 11.3 combined. The V8 is rated at 16.7 L/100 km city, 10.9 highway, and 14.1 combined.

Which 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L trim should I buy?

The 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L is offered in 6 trim levels: Laredo, Altitude, Limited, Overland, Summit, and Summit Reserve.

Here's the short version:

• Laredo: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Grand Cherokee L experience with the standard 8.4-inch touchscreen, 10-inch digital instrument panel, and wireless smartphone connectivity. It makes sense if you want the least expensive way into the model, but it leaves some of the richer luxury touches for higher trims.
• Altitude: This trim builds on the lower-spec setup while adding a more distinctive appearance and a stronger sense of style. It suits you if you want a better-looking Grand Cherokee L without jumping all the way to the pricier luxury-focused trims.
• Limited: This is the best-value choice for many buyers because it adds more convenience and tech, including the larger 10.1-inch touchscreen and navigation. It also unlocks more available safety equipment, making it the sweet spot if you want a well-equipped SUV without going to the top end.
• Overland: This trim pushes further into comfort and capability with more premium equipment and access to additional safety and convenience features. It suits you if you want a more upscale feel and are willing to pay for it.
• Summit: This is where the Grand Cherokee L starts to feel properly luxurious, with features such as night vision available and a more premium overall presentation. It is a strong choice if you want the richest equipment mix without going all the way to the top trim.
• Summit Reserve: This is the most luxurious version and the one Jeep tested, with the most premium interior presentation and the fullest feature set. It is the right pick if you want the best Grand Cherokee L experience and are comfortable paying for it.

The safety package is strongest on higher trims, while some driver-assistance and camera features remain optional on lower ones.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L?

This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory and pricing movement to reward careful shopping.

• Deal availability: 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 307 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.39% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $40,998 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L's resale value?

The current average of $40,998 CAD sits slightly below last year's $47,335 CAD.

That drop suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means sellers may need to price more competitively to stand out. If you plan to sell later, the current softness could limit how aggressively you can ask compared with last year’s market.

Even so, the Grand Cherokee L still has the kind of broad appeal that helps support demand: family-friendly space, premium features, and strong owner satisfaction. Those traits can help cushion resale value if your vehicle is well equipped and well maintained.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.83/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L safe?

The 2023 Grand Cherokee L scored a Top Safety Pick+ from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, but only for models built after May 2023. It also earns five-star ratings in every National Highway Traffic Safety Administration test except rollover, where it scored four-star.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes forward emergency braking, rear park assist and emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and front knee airbags for both the driver and front passenger.

Front cross-traffic braking, a backup camera washer, and 360-degree cameras are optional on Limited and Overland trims. Night vision is available only on Summit and Summit Reserve, and rear side thorax airbags are unavailable.

Should I buy a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.39% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.83/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines classic Jeep style with comfort-focused tuning and strong safety results.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $36,882 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $40,998 CAD average.
• It offers a thoroughly composed three-row SUV with a strong luxury lean.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of current pricing, strong owner satisfaction, and a well-rounded feature set, the 2023 is the better default choice. If your priority is saving money up front, the 2022 is the more budget-friendly path and still delivers much of the same core appeal.
