Used 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe for Sale near Quebec

How much does the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe cost?

Prices have softened 19.83% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 196 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating and 6.33/10 expert rating point to a vehicle that fits a very specific buyer profile. The standout strength is Technology at 8/10.

The 2023 Grand Cherokee 4xe is best suited to you if you want a plug-in hybrid SUV with serious off-road intent and a more upscale look than a purely utilitarian rig. Its plug-in hybrid powertrain is a defining strength, and the Trailhawk version is built to tackle rough terrain with confidence.

The trade-offs are clear: the powertrain is unrefined, and the Trailhawk’s all-terrain tyres hurt on-pavement handling. Poor ergonomic design and weak value for money also weigh on the overall package.

With 35.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Grand Cherokee 4xe is positioned as a premium SUV, and its plug-in hybrid setup is meant to reduce reliance on gasoline while still preserving Jeep capability. In expert testing, the powertrain’s electric range was described as merely adequate, and the hybrid system did not feel especially refined in daily use.

Jeep says the battery is sealed for water fording, which supports the Trailhawk’s off-road durability. The plug-in hybrid hardware is also paired with a standard four-wheel-drive system and a two-speed transfer case, which adds to its rugged mechanical character.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the expensive off-road and hybrid hardware may be more than you need if you mostly drive on pavement.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Trailhawk stands out with sky blue exterior detailing, a matte-black hood decal, more aggressive all-terrain tyres, and the Trail Rated badge. The base model is the most stripped-back version, so you should compare it carefully against the better-equipped trims if you want more luxury and convenience features.
• Powertrain: The plug-in hybrid setup combines a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine, a 17.3-kWh battery pack, and an 8-speed automatic transmission with an integrated 100-kW electric motor. It produces 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque, and the Trailhawk can tow up to 2,720 kilograms.
• Safety package: Jeep equips the Grand Cherokee 4xe with adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, rain-sensing wipers, and a reversing camera with rear parking sensors. Advanced ProTech Group II adds intersection collision assist, a surround-view camera, front parking sensors, and Night Vision. Jeep Active Drive is unavailable on the Trailhawk.
• Infotainment: The Trailhawk uses a 10.1-inch touchscreen with Uconnect 5, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, navigation, Jeep Connect services, and an Alpine premium sound system. It also includes a 10.3-inch digital instrumentation panel and a 10.3-inch front passenger screen.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada estimates 42 kilometres of all-electric range and 11.7 L/100 km in combined driving as a hybrid. In testing, it averaged 14.6 L/100 km after the battery was depleted.

Which 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe trim should I buy?

The 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe is offered in 5 trim levels: base model, Trailhawk, Overland, Summit, and Summit Reserve.

Here's the short version:

• base model: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the Grand Cherokee 4xe experience without paying for the more elaborate luxury and tech upgrades found higher up the range.
• Trailhawk: This is the best-value trim if you care most about off-road ability. It adds the Trail Rated hardware and the rugged look that match the Jeep’s core mission.
• Overland: Choose this if you want a more upscale balance of comfort and capability without jumping all the way to the top trims.
• Summit: This trim is for you if you want a more premium-feeling Grand Cherokee 4xe with more luxury content.
• Summit Reserve: This is the top choice if you want the most lavish version, though it comes at a steep price.

The Trailhawk is the trim that best matches the Jeep’s safety and off-road character, while the higher trims add more luxury-focused equipment.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it pays to compare listings carefully and move quickly on strong examples.

• Deal availability: 35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 196 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 19.83% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $49,592 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe's resale value?

The current average of $49,592 CAD sits slightly below last year's $61,861 CAD.

That price drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the vehicle more attractive to used buyers today. For a future seller, it also means you may face some pressure if the market continues to favour shoppers over sellers.

Because the Grand Cherokee 4xe is a niche plug-in hybrid with strong off-road appeal, demand should remain tied to buyers who value that specific mix of capability and electrification. Well-equipped examples in desirable trims are likely to hold attention better than stripped or less distinctive versions.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe safe?

The 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS and a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, though it also earns a four-star rating for driver protection in a frontal-impact collision.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Jeep equips it with adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, rain-sensing wipers, and a reversing camera with rear parking sensors. Advanced ProTech Group II adds intersection collision assist, a surround-view camera, front parking sensors, and Night Vision.

One caveat is that lane-departure warning issued a few false alerts in testing, and lane-keeping assist felt intrusive in curves. The IIHS also notes a Poor result in the updated moderate overlap frontal-impact test, which is worth keeping in mind if safety is a top priority.

Should I buy a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 19.83% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Expert or safety highlight specific to this year from the summary: the Trailhawk is now 4xe-only, and the off-road focus remains central.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $39,744 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $49,592 CAD average.
• It blends plug-in hybrid efficiency with Jeep’s off-road character.

The bottom line: choose the 2023 if you want the newer market position and the same core off-road plug-in hybrid formula. If your priority is saving money, the 2022 is the better value path, especially if you can find one in good condition.
