Used 2023 Jeep Compass for Sale nearScarborough, ON

How much does the 2023 Jeep Compass cost?

Prices have softened 16.46% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 445 listings available, which suggests you should have some room to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2023 Jeep Compass a good car?

Generally — with a 4.4/5 user rating and a 7.17/10 expert rating, the 2023 Jeep Compass lands as a likeable compact SUV with clear strengths and real compromises. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

Owners repeatedly praise the stylish design, upgraded interior, and improved safety features, and many also like the larger touchscreen and advanced technology. The Compass also comes across as a solid compact SUV choice for shoppers who want a more polished cabin and a more user-friendly feel.

The trade-offs are just as consistent: the powertrain still leaves some drivers wanting more acceleration and passing power, and the expert review calls out poor value for the money, poor visibility, and a cramped back seat. That makes it a better fit if you value features and presentation over outright practicality.

With 31.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, you may find worthwhile examples if you shop carefully.

Is the 2023 Jeep Compass reliable?

Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that many people feel good about living with, and the repeated praise for the upgraded interior and improved safety features suggests the Compass is earning trust from buyers who plan to keep it. The expert drive notes also describe the new turbocharged engine as quieter, smoother, and more refined, which supports the impression of a more dependable-feeling daily driver.

Jeep’s changes for this model year also improve the Compass’s long-term ownership outlook by addressing one of its biggest historical weaknesses. For used buyers, the main risk is that some examples may still feel underwhelming if you expect strong acceleration or a class-leading value proposition.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Jeep Compass?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup spans Sport, North, Altitude, Trailhawk, Limited, (Red) Edition, and Trailhawk Elite. The base Sport misses automatic high-beam headlights, while North adds more safety equipment and is the first step up if you want a better-equipped daily driver.
• Powertrain: Every model uses a new turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive. It is smoother and more refined than before, but it is tuned more for efficiency than outright power.
• Safety package: Standard driver assistance includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping assist. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control with stop and go come in at North, so the base trim leaves some desirable features off the table.
• Infotainment: Every Compass gets a 10.1-inch touchscreen with Uconnect 5, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth for two devices, SiriusXM, connected services with Wi-Fi access, and over-the-air updates. Depending on trim and configuration, you can also get a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel, embedded navigation, a nine-speaker Alpine audio system, and Alexa Built-in.
• Fuel efficiency: The official Natural Resources Canada fuel economy rating is 8.8 litres per 100 kilometres in combined driving, and the test vehicle averaged 9.9 L/100 km.

Which 2023 Jeep Compass trim should I buy?

The 2023 Jeep Compass is offered in 7 trim levels: Sport, North, Altitude, Trailhawk, Limited, (Red) Edition, and Trailhawk Elite.

Here's the short version:

• Sport: This is the entry point, but you give up automatic high-beam headlights and some of the more appealing safety and convenience upgrades. It makes sense only if you want the lowest starting point and plan to keep expectations modest.
• North: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control with stop and go. If you want a better-balanced Compass without jumping too far up the price ladder, this is the one to target.
• Altitude: Choose this if you want a more style-focused version with a more upscale look and feel than the lower trims.
• Trailhawk: This is the one to buy if you want the Compass’s most capable off-road character, including the Jeep Active Drive Low AWD system, Rock mode, skid plates, recovery hooks, and extra ground clearance.
• Limited: This is the most polished everyday choice, especially if you care about the richer cabin presentation, larger digital displays, and available premium tech. It is also the trim used for the expert test vehicle.
• (Red) Edition: Pick this if you want a special-edition appearance and equipment mix that stands apart from the mainstream trims.
• Trailhawk Elite: This is the most feature-rich Trailhawk variant for buyers who want the off-road hardware plus a more upscale specification.

The safety-package step-up at North is the key trim note to keep in mind if you want the best mix of value and protection.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Jeep Compass?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you should be able to shop with some leverage if you compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 31.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 445 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.46% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $27,212 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Jeep Compass's resale value?

The current average of $27,214 CAD sits slightly below last year's $32,578 CAD.

That drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the Compass easier to buy now but less favourable for a future seller hoping for strong retained value. If you own one, the softer pricing trend means your resale window may depend more on condition, trim, and equipment than on broad market momentum.

The good news is that a lower entry price can help keep demand moving among used shoppers who want a newer Compass without paying new-car money. Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Jeep Compass safe?

The 2023 Jeep Compass earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Jeep adds a standard drowsy driver detection system and a rear-seat reminder system for 2023, while all but the base Sport trim feature automatic high-beam headlights. Standard advanced driver-assistance systems include forward-collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping assist. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control with stop and go capability come in at the North grade, and you can also get traffic sign recognition plus front and rear parking sensors.

There are a couple of caveats to keep in mind. The lane-keeping inputs can feel too obvious, and the adaptive cruise control is not especially smooth in braking or maintaining distance. The IIHS also had incomplete test results for this model year at the time of review, so you should check for updates if crash-test performance is a priority.

Should I buy a 2023 Jeep Compass or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 31.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.46% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The new turbocharged engine, standard AWD, and added safety features make this year a major step forward.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $23,830 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $27,214 CAD average.
• It offers a more premium-feeling compact SUV with Jeep’s off-road image.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $28,281 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $27,214 CAD average.
• It brings strong value at the entry level with useful tech and impressive safety features.

The bottom line: The 2023 is the better all-around pick if you want the upgraded powertrain and standard equipment improvements. If your priority is saving money, the 2022 is the cheaper route; if you want a newer Compass with a more value-focused entry point, the 2024 is worth a look.
