Used 2023 Jeep Compass for Sale nearAbbotsford, BC

How much does the 2023 Jeep Compass cost?

Prices have softened 16.01% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 480 listings available, which suggests a decent amount of inventory for you to compare.

Is the 2023 Jeep Compass a good car?

Generally — at 4.4/5, the 2023 Jeep Compass lands as a well-liked choice, and our experts rate it 7.17/10. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise the stylish design, upgraded interior, and improved safety features. They also like the larger touchscreen and advanced technology, which make the cabin feel more user-friendly and upscale. On the flip side, some owners still want more power from the powertrain.

That lines up with the broader use case: you’re looking at a small crossover that feels more modern than older Compass models, with everyday appeal and a stronger feature set. Even so, the model still carries a value challenge, especially when you compare it with alternatives.

Only 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market is selective rather than especially bargain-heavy.

Is the 2023 Jeep Compass reliable?

Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle people can count on for its upgraded interior, improved safety features, and generally solid compact SUV experience. That kind of feedback suggests the Compass has moved in a more dependable direction, especially compared with older versions.

The new turbocharged engine and eight-speed automatic also help the Compass feel smoother and more refined in daily driving, which supports confidence over time. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the model still has some value and usability compromises, so condition and maintenance history matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Jeep Compass?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Compass lineup includes Sport, North, Altitude, Trailhawk, Limited, (Red) Edition, and Trailhawk Elite. The base Sport misses automatic high-beam headlights, while the higher trims add more upscale equipment and, in the Trailhawk versions, off-road-focused hardware.
• Powertrain: You get a new turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with 200 horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque, paired with a new eight-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive. Jeep tuned it for fuel economy and regular fuel use, so it is stronger than before but not class-leading.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, a drowsy driver detection system, and a rear-seat reminder system. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control with stop and go come in at the North grade.
• Infotainment: Every model gets a 10.1-inch touchscreen with Uconnect 5, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth for two devices, SiriusXM satellite radio, SiriusXM Guardian connected services with Wi-Fi access, and over-the-air updates. A 10.25-inch digital instrument panel is available depending on trim and configuration.
• Fuel efficiency: The official Natural Resources Canada fuel economy rating is 8.8 litres per 100 kilometres in combined driving.

Which 2023 Jeep Compass trim should I buy?

The 2023 Jeep Compass is offered in 7 trim levels: Sport, North, Altitude, Trailhawk, Limited, (Red) Edition, and Trailhawk Elite.

Here's the short version:

• Sport: This is the entry point, but it leaves out automatic high-beam headlights. It makes sense only if you want the lowest starting point and are comfortable with a simpler feature set.
• North: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more useful equipment while staying below the pricier upper trims. It also unlocks blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control with stop and go.
• Altitude: Choose this if you want a more upscale look and feel without jumping all the way to the higher-priced trims.
• Trailhawk: This is the one to choose if you want the Compass’s most capable off-road setup, including the low-range AWD system, Rock mode, skid plates, recovery hooks, and extra ground clearance.
• Limited: This is the comfort-and-tech pick, especially if you want the richer cabin presentation, larger digital displays, and available premium features.
• (Red) Edition: This is for you if styling and special-edition appeal matter more than pure value.
• Trailhawk Elite: This is the most feature-rich off-road-oriented version, but it sits at the top of the range and is best for buyers who want the full package.

The safety package starts with strong standard ADAS coverage, but the base Sport misses automatic high-beam headlights.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Jeep Compass?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully rather than rush.

• Deal availability: 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 480 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.01% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $27,671 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Jeep Compass's resale value?

The current average of $27,671 CAD sits slightly below last year's $32,945 CAD.

That price drop suggests the Compass has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future resale stability if you buy at the right price. If you purchase near the current average or below, you reduce the risk of taking the steepest early hit.

The model’s stronger feature set and improved owner satisfaction should help keep demand steady, especially among shoppers who want a compact Jeep with standard all-wheel drive. Still, the Compass’s value concerns mean resale will depend heavily on trim choice, mileage, and condition.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Jeep Compass safe?

The 2023 Jeep Compass earns a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS, though the organisation says the model is ineligible for the newer accolade until further testing is complete.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Jeep adds a standard drowsy driver detection system and a rear-seat reminder system for 2023, and all but the base Sport trim feature automatic high-beam headlights. Standard ADAS includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping assist. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control with stop and go are included at the North grade, while traffic sign recognition and front and rear parking sensors are available upgrades.

There are a couple of caveats to keep in mind: the lane-keeping inputs can feel too obvious, and the adaptive cruise control is not especially smooth. Visibility is also a concern, which matters when you’re evaluating the Compass as a used buy.

Should I buy a 2023 Jeep Compass or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.01% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 brings a new turbocharged engine, standard all-wheel drive, and more safety features.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $23,895 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $27,671 CAD average.
• It offers a more premium-feeling Compass with strong off-road capability and upscale trims.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $28,610 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $27,671 CAD average.
• It carries over the upgraded powertrain and adds strong value in lower trims.

The bottom line: If you want the most improved version of this generation, the 2023 is the right target. If price is your top priority, the 2022 can save you money, while the 2024 is worth a look if you want the next model year’s carryover value and can stretch a bit.
