What is the 2023 Honda Civic Hatchback's resale value?

The current average of $26,994 CAD sits slightly below last year's $30,000 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy more confidently today, but it also means future resale will depend on how well the market absorbs this model year. If prices stabilise, owners who buy near the lower end of the range may be better positioned later. If demand stays steady, the hatchback's practical appeal should continue to support used values.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Honda Civic Hatchback or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 30.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.02% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $26,594 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $26,994 CAD average.
• It adds hatchback practicality to the redesigned Civic formula.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $29,575 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $26,994 CAD average.
• It adds a more engaging drive with strong all-around appeal.

The bottom line: The 2023 is the best all-around pick if you want strong owner satisfaction and a market that has softened. If you’re more price-sensitive, the 2022 is the better value play, while the 2024 makes sense if you want to spend more for a newer-feeling alternative.
