How much does the 2023 Ford F-150 cost?

Is the 2023 Ford F-150 a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Ford F-150 earns a 4.94/5 user rating and an 8.00/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its powerful performance, smooth ride, and modern features, including the large touchscreen and advanced safety tech. They also describe it as dependable and well suited to long-term ownership, with a reputation that inspires confidence when you need a truck you can count on.

From our test drive, the F-150’s broad capability and strong feature set make it especially appealing if you want a full-size pickup that can handle work duties and daily driving. The trade-offs are that pricing can climb quickly, and some luxury-oriented extras may not be necessary for every buyer.

Is the 2023 Ford F-150 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.94/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a truck that feels dependable, trouble-free, and easy to count on over time. That kind of owner confidence matters if you plan to keep your used truck for years rather than just a short stint.

From the test drive, the F-150 also comes across as structurally solid, with secure handling and a drivetrain that delivers effortless acceleration. Ford’s 10-speed automatic is described as consistently choosing the right gear without delay, which supports the impression of a well-sorted powertrain.

If you’re buying used, the main long-term ownership risk is that higher-mileage trucks may have seen hard work, so condition and maintenance history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Ford F-150?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup spans regular, Super Cab, and SuperCrew body styles, with trims ranging from XL to Raptor. The base XL is the workhorse, while higher trims add more comfort and equipment; the XLT Heritage Edition brings two-tone paint, unique cloth seat inserts, and exclusive 75 Years interior details.
• Powertrain: You can find multiple engine choices, including the twin-turbocharged 3.5-litre EcoBoost V6 in the test truck and the supercharged 5.2-litre V8 in the Raptor R. The EcoBoost delivers effortless acceleration, but fuel economy is a weak point.
• Safety package: Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist 2.0 bundles automatic high-beam headlights, forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking sensors, and automatic reverse braking. Assist 2.0 adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, lane-centring assist, evasive steering assist, intersection assist for left turns, and speed-sign recognition.
• Infotainment: Sync 4 includes a 12-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, over-the-air software updates, enhanced voice recognition, SiriusXM 360L, and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot.
• Fuel efficiency: The test truck was expected to return 12.1 L/100 km in combined driving, but it averaged 13.8 L/100 km on the test loop.

Which 2023 Ford F-150 trim should I buy?

The 2023 Ford F-150 is offered in 8 trim levels: XL, XLT, XLT Heritage Edition, Lariat, Tremor, King Ranch, Platinum, and Raptor.

Here's the short version:

• XL: This is the value-focused starting point if you want the F-150’s core capability without paying for extra luxury or tech. It makes the most sense if you’re buying primarily for work use and want to keep costs down.
• XLT: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds Ford’s Sync 4 system with a 12-inch touchscreen, wireless smartphone integration, over-the-air updates, and a strong mix of everyday convenience features.
• XLT Heritage Edition: Choose this if you want the XLT’s practical equipment with a more distinctive look and special interior details. It is the style-led choice in the middle of the range.
• Lariat: This is the trim to consider if you want a more upscale cabin and access to adaptive damping suspension. It suits buyers who want a better balance of comfort and capability.
• Tremor: Pick this if you want a more specialised off-road-oriented setup. The content points to stronger trail focus than the mainstream trims.
• King Ranch: This is for buyers who want a more premium, high-end truck and are willing to pay for it.
• Platinum: Consider this if you want luxury-oriented features and a more polished feel than the lower trims.
• Raptor: This is the performance-focused choice, and the Raptor R pushes that idea further with its supercharged V8, Fox live-valve shocks, and 37-inch all-terrain tyres.

Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist 2.0 is the safety package to look for, since it adds several useful driver-assistance features beyond the standard suite.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Ford F-150?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,026 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.55% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $50,147 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Ford F-150's resale value?

The current average of $50,147 CAD sits slightly below last year's $54,834 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you as a buyer today, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive market if prices continue to ease. If you buy at the right number and keep the truck in strong condition, you may be better positioned when it comes time to sell.

The F-150’s broad appeal and strong reputation should help support demand, especially for well-equipped examples with desirable features. Trucks with the right configuration and a clean history tend to hold buyer interest better than less desirable builds.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.94/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Ford F-150 safe?

The F-150 SuperCrew earns high marks from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and five-star ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), coupled with a four-star rollover resistance rating.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist 2.0 is the named driver-assistance suite, and it includes automatic high-beam headlights, forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking sensors, automatic reverse braking, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, lane-centring assist, evasive steering assist, intersection assist for left turns, and speed-sign recognition.

The safety package is strong overall, but the lane-centring system can be a bit aggressive in some situations, and it may tug at the wheel when you would rather it stayed more relaxed.

Should I buy a 2023 Ford F-150 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.55% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.94/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• This year adds the Raptor R and XLT Heritage Edition, expanding both performance and value-focused choice.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $55,276 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $50,147 CAD average.
• It adds a standard 12-inch touchscreen and an updated BlueCruise system.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2023 is the smarter buy because prices have eased and the lineup still offers strong tech, safety, and capability. If you’re willing to pay more for newer updates and hands-free driving improvements, the 2024 is the better pick.
