Used 2023 Chevrolet Equinox for Sale nearNepean, ON

How much does the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox cost?

Prices have softened 11.84% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 531 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 7/10 across Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Technology.

It remains a sensible compact crossover for you if you want a straightforward, practical SUV with easy-to-use technology, great ride quality, and strong value for money. The trade-offs are clear: performance is fairly pedestrian, the transmission can be irritating, and road noise is a drawback.

With 34.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still offers some attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Equinox is presented as a proven, practical compact crossover rather than a cutting-edge one, and its simple controls and approachable layout support that reputation. Its brake-by-wire system and well-sorted suspension also point to a vehicle engineered for predictable everyday use.

Chevrolet’s 1.5-litre turbocharged engine and six-speed automatic are straightforward, but the powertrain can feel noisy and less refined than newer rivals. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the Equinox’s age and modest performance may make it feel dated sooner than some competitors.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Chevrolet Equinox?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LS, LT, RS, and Premier each bring different equipment levels. Heated front seats are standard on all trims, but the heated steering wheel is not available on the base LS. If you want more comfort and convenience, the higher trims add more of the features you’ll notice every day.
• Powertrain: You get a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine as the only powertrain. It gained five horsepower for 2023, but it still feels modest, especially at higher speeds. The six-speed automatic is part of why the powertrain can sound busy.
• Safety package: Chevrolet Safety Assist includes automatic emergency braking, forward collision alert with pedestrian detection and braking, lane-keeping assistance, lane-departure warning, and automatic high beams. Blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are extra-cost options on every trim but Premier.
• Infotainment: The LS, LT, and RS use a 7-inch touchscreen, while the Premier gets an 8-inch unit. All trims get wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto, plus Bluetooth and a Wi-Fi hotspot with an OnStar subscription. OTA capability is not mentioned.
• Fuel efficiency: AWD models should return 9.9 L/100 km in the city, 7.9 L/100 km on the highway, and 9.0 L/100 km combined. FWD models improve to 8.9 L/100 km city, 7.7 L/100 km highway, and 8.4 L/100 km combined.

Which 2023 Chevrolet Equinox trim should I buy?

The 2023 Chevrolet Equinox is offered in 4 trim levels: LS, LT, RS, and Premier.

Here's the short version:

• LS: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Equinox formula at the lowest price. It suits you if you want the basics and value, but it misses some comfort features that make the higher trims easier to live with.
• LT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds useful everyday upgrades without pushing too far up the price ladder. It also unlocks the heated steering wheel, which is a worthwhile Canadian convenience feature.
• RS: Choose this if you want a sportier look and a more upscale feel than the lower trims, while still keeping the same practical Equinox character.
• Premier: This is the most fully equipped version, with the larger 8-inch touchscreen, standard heated steering wheel, and the most premium cabin presentation. It makes sense if you want the most comfort and convenience the Equinox offers.

Blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are extra-cost options on every trim but Premier.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Chevrolet Equinox?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 531 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.84% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $24,918 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox's resale value?

The current average of $24,983 CAD sits slightly below last year's $28,338 CAD.

That decline suggests the Equinox is in a softer pricing phase, which can be good news if you’re buying now but less ideal if you plan to sell soon. For a future seller, the current trend means you may need to price competitively to stand out. On the other hand, the model’s practical appeal and value positioning should help it remain relevant with budget-conscious shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox safe?

The 2023 Chevrolet Equinox earns five-star ratings from NHTSA overall, but it scored a Poor rating in the IIHS moderate overlap front crash test and a Marginal score in the side-impact crash test.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Chevrolet Safety Assist is standard and includes automatic emergency braking, forward collision alert with pedestrian detection and braking, lane-keeping assistance, lane-departure warning, and automatic high beams. Blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are extra-cost options on every trim but Premier.

The weak IIHS results are the main caution for you here, especially if crash-test performance is a top priority.

Should I buy a 2023 Chevrolet Equinox or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.84% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Expert highlight: it gets a little extra power, a more sophisticated braking system, and three new paint colours.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $22,463 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $24,983 CAD average.
• It offers a proven formula with revised styling and added wireless smartphone connectivity.

The bottom line: If you want the better-equipped and slightly more polished version, the 2023 is the stronger pick. If your priority is saving money and you’re comfortable with an older-feeling compact SUV, the 2022 is the value play.
