Used 2023 BMW 3 Series for Sale near Thornhill, ON

How much does the 2023 BMW 3 Series cost?

Prices have softened 21.04% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 161 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 BMW 3 Series a good car?

Yes — the 2023 BMW 3 Series earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8.67/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, Technology, and Safety.

It stands out as a refreshed version of BMW’s best-selling car, with sportier styling, interior design updates, and technology upgrades. You also get the driver-focused character that has long defined the model, plus a polished, engaging sedan feel that suits daily driving and longer trips.

The main trade-offs are that a manual transmission is not available and some interior materials feel cheap. That means you should be happiest if you want a modern, refined sports sedan rather than a traditional enthusiast car with a three-pedal setup.

With 29.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is a decent amount of value on the market if you shop carefully.

Is the 2023 BMW 3 Series reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2023 BMW 3 Series is presented as a polished, driver-focused sedan with a quiet cabin and strong ride quality, which are encouraging signs for everyday ownership. Its expert assessment also points to a well-rounded package rather than a car that relies on one standout trait.

The performance side is straightforward: the 330i and 330e use a twin-turbo 2.0-litre four-cylinder, while the M340i uses a twin-turbo 3.0-litre inline-six, all paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. That simplicity can be reassuring for used buyers, even though the lineup is still performance-oriented.

The cost-effectiveness notes also mention that the 330e qualifies for federal and provincial rebates, which is a useful ownership perk if you are considering the plug-in hybrid. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a premium, technology-heavy sedan can become expensive if you need repairs or optional systems later on.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 BMW 3 Series?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The 330i is the entry point, while the M340i adds more power and a more aggressive look. The base car already gets BMW iDrive 8, the curved display, and standard 18-inch wheels, but the M Sport package and M340i-specific exterior details add more visual presence.
• Powertrain: The 330i uses a twin-turbo 2.0-litre four-cylinder, the 330e adds electric assist, and the M340i uses a twin-turbo 3.0-litre inline-six. All use an eight-speed automatic, and xDrive is standard on all models except the PHEV.
• Safety package: Active Guard is standard and includes frontal collision warning, automatic city collision mitigation and braking. The Advanced Driver Assistance Package adds active blind spot detection, lane-departure warning, park-distance control, pedestrian and frontal collision warnings, Traffic Jam Assistant, and Driving Assistant Professional.
• Infotainment: You get BMW iDrive 8 with a 27.2-inch curved display made up of a 12.3-inch driver display and a 14.9-inch touchscreen. Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and over-the-air updates are standard, while wireless device charging is available.
• Fuel efficiency: The 330i xDrive is rated at 9.8 L/100 km in the city, 7.0 on the highway, and 8.6 combined. The 330e is rated at 8.8 L/100 km on gas and 3.2 Le/100 km combined in electric mode, or 9.2 L/100 km combined and 3.4 Le/100 km combined with xDrive. The M340i is rated at 10.3 L/100 km city, 7.4 highway, and 9.0 combined.

Which 2023 BMW 3 Series trim should I buy?

The 2023 BMW 3 Series is offered in 3 trim levels: 330i, 330e, and M340i.

Here's the short version:

• 330i: This is the best-value choice if you want the core 3 Series experience with strong standard tech, a quiet cabin, and the refreshed styling without stretching to the pricier trims.
• 330e: Choose this if you want plug-in hybrid efficiency and the ability to qualify for rebates, especially if your driving pattern lets you use electric range regularly.
• M340i: Pick this if you want the strongest performance in the lineup, with the inline-six and the most urgent acceleration.

The safety package is split across standard equipment and optional bundles, so it is worth checking whether the car you are considering has the Advanced Driver Assistance Package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 BMW 3 Series?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 29.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 161 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 21.04% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $40,527 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 BMW 3 Series's resale value?

The current average of $40,573 CAD sits slightly below last year's $51,383 CAD.

That drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price, you may reduce the risk of taking a bigger depreciation hit later.

The 3 Series still has strong appeal because it combines stylish design, great ride quality, and a quiet cabin with a premium badge. That kind of broad appeal can help support demand when you eventually sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 BMW 3 Series safe?

The 2023 BMW 3 Series has been awarded a five-star crash safety rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes a rear view camera, LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, BMW Assist eCall, Active Guard with frontal collision warning and automatic city collision mitigation and braking, plus the Active Protection System with automatic seat belt pretensioners, automatic window/moonroof closing, post-crash braking, and fatigue/focus alert.

The Advanced Driver Assistance Package adds active blind spot detection, lane-departure warning, park-distance control, pedestrian and frontal collision warnings, Traffic Jam Assistant, and Driving Assistant Professional with adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, lane-change assist, emergency stop assistant, and evasion aid. Some of the more advanced systems are bundled rather than standard, so you should verify equipment carefully on any used example.

Should I buy a 2023 BMW 3 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 29.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 21.04% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• BMW’s mid-cycle refresh brings sleeker styling, an updated driver-oriented cockpit, and more technology.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $35,208 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $40,573 CAD average.
• It remains essentially the same as it has since 2019, with minor equipment changes.

The bottom line: If you want the newer styling, updated cabin, and stronger tech story, the 2023 is the better all-around pick. If your priority is spending less and you are comfortable with a more evolutionary version of the same formula, the 2022 is the smarter value play.
