Used 2022 Volkswagen Jetta for Sale near Ontario

How much does the 2022 Volkswagen Jetta cost?

Prices have softened 9.00% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

With 255 listings available, you have a decent amount of inventory to compare before you commit.

Is the 2022 Volkswagen Jetta a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Volkswagen Jetta earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.83/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 8/10.

Owners consistently praise its sleek design, smooth performance, and impressive fuel economy. They also like the spacious, well-designed interior and the comfy seats, along with the modern technology. On the other hand, the new dashboard layout and the change in emergency brake design are recurring frustrations.

From an expert perspective, the Jetta’s value-minded refresh gives you more standard features and a more polished presentation. The trade-offs are fairly pedestrian performance and technology that can feel unintuitive at times.

For you, that means the Jetta makes the most sense if you want an efficient, comfortable compact sedan with a modern feel rather than a sporty one. The market also shows 28.6% good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile listings to find.

Is the 2022 Volkswagen Jetta reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with praise for its gas mileage, comfort, and performance. The expert road test also describes it as a strong commuter car that can cover long distances comfortably, which supports the idea that it is built for everyday use and long-term confidence.

The refreshed model’s added equipment and updated powertrain should help it feel current, but used buyers should still pay attention to how the technology and driver-assist features work in real-world use. As with any used compact sedan, condition and maintenance history will matter most for long-term ownership risk.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Volkswagen Jetta?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Trendline, Comfortline, and Highline are the three trims offered in Canada. The base Trendline is the most stripped-back version, while Comfortline and Highline add more equipment and a more premium feel.
• Powertrain: You get a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder with either a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed automatic. It is front-wheel drive only, and the automatic is standard on Highline.
• Safety package: Forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian recognition are standard. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, lane-keep assist, Travel Assist, and Emergency Assist are offered from Comfortline.
• Infotainment: Trendline uses a 6.5-inch touchscreen with App-Connect, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, MirrorLink, Bluetooth, two USB-C ports, and an SD card multimedia interface. Comfortline and Highline get an 8-inch infotainment system, while Highline adds a 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit Pro and an 8-inch touchscreen-navigation system.
• Fuel efficiency: The manual is rated at 8.0 L/100 km city, 5.5 highway, and 6.9 combined. The automatic is rated at 7.7 L/100 km city, 5.7 highway, and 6.8 combined.

Which 2022 Volkswagen Jetta trim should I buy?

The 2022 Volkswagen Jetta is offered in 3 trim levels: Trendline, Comfortline, and Highline.

Here's the short version:

• Trendline: This is the value play if you want the lowest entry point and still want the core Jetta experience. You get the standard safety tech, the 6.5-inch touchscreen, and the updated Digital Cockpit, but you miss out on the extra convenience and driver-assist features that make the higher trims feel more complete.
• Comfortline: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the key safety upgrades, the larger 8-inch infotainment system, and more everyday convenience without jumping all the way to the top price. If you want the sweet spot between equipment and cost, this is the one to target.
• Highline: This is the trim to choose if you want the most polished Jetta experience. It adds the 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit Pro, the 8-inch touchscreen-navigation system, and automatic transmission standard, making it the most fully equipped version.

Safety equipment expands from Trendline to Comfortline, so that trim step matters if driver-assist features are important to you.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Volkswagen Jetta?

The market looks moderately favourable for selective buyers right now.

• Deal availability: 28.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 255 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.00% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $21,680 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Volkswagen Jetta's resale value?

The current average of $21,680 CAD sits slightly below last year's $23,824 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the Jetta is currently more buyer-friendly than seller-friendly. If you own one and plan to sell soon, you may need to price competitively to stand out. The good news is that the model’s strong fuel economy, comfort, and technology should help keep it appealing to used shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Volkswagen Jetta safe?

The 2022 Volkswagen Jetta falls short of a Top Safety Pick crash safety ratings from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) due to an Acceptable score in the updated side crash test. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gives the 2022 Jetta a five-star overall safety rating.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian recognition is standard in Canada. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, lane-keep assist, Travel Assist, and Emergency Assist are offered from Comfortline.

A key caveat is that the IIHS side-crash result keeps it from a Top Safety Pick result, and headlight performance varies by trim, ranging from Marginal to Poor.

Should I buy a 2022 Volkswagen Jetta or consider a different year?
