Used 2022 Volkswagen Atlas for Sale nearMontreal, QC

How much does the 2022 Volkswagen Atlas cost?

Prices have softened 17.45% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 312 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of choice in the used market.

Is the 2022 Volkswagen Atlas a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Volkswagen Atlas earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 9/10.

It is built around space and everyday usefulness, with a comfortable cabin, a spacious third row, and plenty of cargo space. That makes it a strong fit if you want a family-sized SUV that prioritises practicality over flash.

The trade-offs are clear: performance is fairly pedestrian, fuel economy is poor, and the interior materials feel cheap. Even so, the Atlas’s roomy layout and useful three-row packaging make it appealing if you value space more than refinement.

With 30.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is a healthy share of attractive inventory to consider.

Is the 2022 Volkswagen Atlas reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Atlas is positioned as a practical, comfort-focused three-row SUV, and its expert assessment reinforces that it is built around passenger room and cargo utility. Its 4-year, 80,000-kilometre warranty also adds some ownership reassurance.

Its turbocharged four-cylinder is described as needing premium fuel to achieve its outputs, and the V6 is called out for its lack of power, efficiency, and refinement. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the Atlas’s strengths in space and usefulness are offset by a drivetrain and cabin experience that may feel less satisfying over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Volkswagen Atlas?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Trendline is the most basic version, with a tiny 6.5-inch touchscreen and last-generation infotainment system, while higher trims add more premium equipment and features. The Execline sits at the top of the range with standard R-Line design elements and 21-inch alloy wheels.
• Powertrain: The Trendline, Comfortline, and Highline use a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder with 235 horsepower and standard 4Motion all-wheel drive. The 3.6-litre V6 is optional on Comfortline and Highline, and standard on Execline; it is paired with an 8-speed automatic and AWD.
• Safety package: Front Assist, Side Assist, and Rear Traffic Alert are standard, while Comfortline adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go plus front and rear parking sensors with low-speed automatic braking. Highline adds brighter LED headlights with automatic high-beam operation and adaptive front lighting, and Execline adds Area View and Park Assist.
• Infotainment: The Trendline has a 6.5-inch touchscreen, while other trims get an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, and Car-Net connected services. Starting with Highline, the digital cluster expands to 10.25 inches and adds navigation map display in the gauge cluster.
• Fuel efficiency: The turbocharged 2.0-litre is rated at 10.6 litres per 100 kilometres in combined driving, while the V6 is rated at 12.2 L/100 km in combined driving.

Which 2022 Volkswagen Atlas trim should I buy?

The 2022 Volkswagen Atlas is offered in 4 trim levels: Trendline, Comfortline, Highline, and Execline.

Here's the short version:

• Trendline: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Atlas’s core space and practicality, plus standard safety features and basic connectivity. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the model, but the small 6.5-inch screen and older infotainment setup are clear compromises.
• Comfortline: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, front and rear parking sensors with low-speed automatic braking, and the newer MIB3 infotainment system with an 8-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, and Car-Net services.
• Highline: This trim adds a 10.25-inch digital cluster, navigation, brighter LED headlights with automatic high-beam operation, and adaptive front lighting. It is the better pick if you want more convenience and a more upscale feel.
• Execline: This is the top trim, with standard V6 power, 21-inch wheels, Area View, and Park Assist. It suits you if you want the most equipment and do not mind the added cost or the firmer ride from the larger wheels.

Safety-package note: Front Assist, Side Assist, and Rear Traffic Alert are standard, while higher trims add more advanced driver-assistance and parking features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Volkswagen Atlas?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully and compare listings.

• Deal availability: 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 312 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.45% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $31,555 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Volkswagen Atlas's resale value?

The current average of $31,883 CAD sits slightly below last year's $38,625 CAD.

That drop suggests the Atlas has become more affordable for used buyers, which can make it harder for a future seller to command a premium unless the vehicle is especially well equipped or well kept. The current pricing also points to a market that has already adjusted downward, so depreciation pressure may be less dramatic than it was a year ago.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Volkswagen Atlas safe?

The 2022 Atlas does not earn a Top Safety Pick rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), and it gets four-star ratings for the driver and front passenger in frontal-impact tests from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Volkswagen equips the Atlas Trendline with Front Assist, Side Assist, Rear Traffic Alert, and automatic post-collision braking. Front Assist includes forward-collision warning, pedestrian detection, and automatic emergency braking; Side Assist is blind-spot monitoring; and Rear Traffic Alert is rear cross-traffic alert.

Comfortline adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, plus front and rear parking sensors with low-speed automatic braking. Highline adds brighter LED headlights with automatic high-beam operation and adaptive front lighting, while Execline adds Area View and Park Assist.

There are a couple of caveats to keep in mind. The parking sensors can react too aggressively when the vehicle is heavily loaded, and Lane Assist can misread road markings and behave inconsistently. You also cannot disable Lane Assist through the infotainment screen while driving.

Should I buy a 2022 Volkswagen Atlas or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.45% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It keeps the roomy, practical three-row formula that defines the Atlas.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $27,924 CAD, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $31,883 CAD average.
• It is a straightforward family hauler with limited changes for the model year.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the better choice if you want the Atlas’s space, practicality, and updated equipment at a still-softened used price. If your priority is saving money above all else, the 2021 is the more budget-friendly path, especially if you are comfortable with a simpler, less updated version.

How does the 2022 Volkswagen Atlas compare to the 2022 Ford Explorer?
