Is the 2022 Toyota Venza a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Toyota Venza earns a 4.71/5 from owners and an 8.5/10 from our experts. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its comfort, quiet ride, and fuel efficiency, and many also like its upscale interior feel and smooth driving experience. The main trade-offs are limited cargo space and technology that can feel unintuitive.

For you, that makes the Venza a strong fit if you want a comfortable, efficient two-row SUV with a distinctive design rather than maximum utility or a conventional layout. With 28.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Toyota Venza reliable?

Owners rate it 4.71/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Toyota’s shared-platform approach also supports long-term confidence because it can help with parts availability and service familiarity. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is less about mechanical complexity and more about whether the Venza’s packaging and technology suit your needs over the long haul.

Which 2022 Toyota Venza trim should I buy?

• XLE: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds the 12.3-inch touchscreen, heated steering wheel, keyless entry, pushbutton start, SofTex upholstery, and the JBL audio system without jumping to the top price.
• Limited: Choose this if you want the most upscale Venza, with the head-up display, digital rearview mirror, rain-sensing wipers, and surround-view camera.

Safety-wise, all trims get Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, while XLE and Limited add front and rear parking assist with automated braking.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Toyota Venza?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.

• Deal availability: 28.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 96 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.05% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $34,398 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Toyota Venza's resale value?

The current average of $34,660 CAD sits slightly below last year's $37,696 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the Venza has become a bit more accessible for used buyers, which can help keep demand steady if you decide to sell later. A lower entry point today may also make it easier for future shoppers to see value in the model, especially given its efficiency and standard all-wheel drive.

For a seller, the key takeaway is that the market has already adjusted downward, so resale strength will depend more on condition, mileage, and trim than on broad price momentum. Well-equipped examples with the right features should still attract attention, but you should expect buyers to compare carefully.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.71/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Toyota Venza safe?

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

A blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert is also standard on all trim levels, while XLE and Limited models add front and rear parking assist with automated braking.

Should I buy a 2022 Toyota Venza or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 28.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.05% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.71/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines standard hybrid efficiency, standard all-wheel drive, and strong safety equipment in a distinctive two-row package.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $31,818 CAD, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $34,660 CAD average.
• It offers a more premium-feeling hybrid SUV with standard AWD.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $40,614 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $34,660 CAD average.
• It leans harder into style and efficiency, but gives up some cargo space.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, efficiency, and standard equipment, the 2022 is the sensible target. If you are especially price-sensitive, the 2021 is the cheaper route into the same basic formula.
