How much does the 2022 Toyota Sienna cost?

Prices have softened 6.91% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 119 listings available, which suggests a decent amount of inventory for you to compare.

Is the 2022 Toyota Sienna a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Toyota Sienna earns a 4.8/5 user rating and an 8.7/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, Technology, and Safety.

It stands out as a hybrid-only minivan with a standard hybrid powertrain, and it keeps the same formula from the redesigned 2021 model year. That makes it a strong fit if you want family practicality, efficiency, and a familiar setup rather than a major redesign. 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Toyota Sienna reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2022 Toyota Sienna’s reliability case is built around continuity: it carries over unchanged from the previous model year, and its hybrid-only setup is part of Toyota’s broader hybrid experience. The expert assessment also points to a well-executed redesign that prioritises efficiency and family usefulness over novelty. Toyota’s hybrid battery warranty adds another layer of reassurance for long-term ownership.

For used buyers, the main ownership risk is less about a known mechanical weakness and more about buying a high-use family vehicle without a careful inspection of wear items and maintenance history.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Toyota Sienna?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LE starts with 17-inch wheels, a 4.2-inch display, and a six-speaker audio system, while upper trims add larger wheels, more audio capability, and more convenience features. The base trim is the most stripped-back, so check whether you want the extra comfort and tech that come with the higher grades.
• Powertrain: The Sienna uses a 2.5-litre four-cylinder hybrid system with two electric motors, and all-wheel drive is available on all trim levels except XLE. Limited is AWD-only, so make sure the drivetrain matches your needs.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 is standard and includes adaptive cruise control, Lane Tracing Assist, pre-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, and automatic high beams. Blind spot monitoring and Toyota’s Star Safety System are also standard.
• Infotainment: Every grade gets a 9-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, SiriusXM, one USB media port, and six USB charging ports. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are not included, so test the system to make sure it suits your expectations.
• Fuel efficiency: The government predicts 6.6 L/100 km city, 6.5 L/100 km highway, and 6.6 combined for FWD models, while AWD models are rated at 6.8 L/100 km city, 6.6 highway, and 6.7 combined.

Which 2022 Toyota Sienna trim should I buy?

The 2022 Toyota Sienna is offered in 4 trim levels: LE, XLE, XSE, Limited.

Here's the short version:

• LE: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Sienna experience at the lowest price. It’s the trim to consider if you want the hybrid powertrain and family-friendly packaging without paying for extras you may not need.
• XLE: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more comfort and convenience while staying below the sportier and more expensive upper trims. It also opens the door to more available equipment, including the rear-seat entertainment system and the 1500-watt inverter.
• XSE: This trim adds a more upscale feel with available technology upgrades, including Qi wireless phone charging and the digital rearview mirror. It suits you if you want a more feature-rich Sienna without jumping all the way to Limited.
• Limited: This is the most premium version, and it comes standard with AWD. It’s the one to choose if you want the most complete equipment list and don’t mind paying for it.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 and blind spot monitoring are standard across the lineup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Toyota Sienna?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 119 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.91% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $45,494 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Toyota Sienna's resale value?

The current average of $47,601 CAD sits slightly below last year's $51,132 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can be helpful if you’re buying now but less favourable if you plan to sell soon. For a future seller, the key takeaway is that the Sienna’s value remains supported, but you may not see the same pricing strength that was present a year ago. Its hybrid-only identity and family-focused appeal should still help it hold interest among used buyers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Toyota Sienna safe?

The 2022 Sienna was a five-star vehicle according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), and the 2021 model received a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), which is expected to carry over to this nearly identical model year.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 is standard and includes adaptive cruise control, Lane Tracing Assist lane centring, pre-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, and automatic high beams. Blind spot monitoring is also standard, along with Toyota’s Star Safety System, 10 airbags, multiple LATCH child-seat connectors, a rear-seat reminder system, and standard tire-pressure monitoring.

Should I buy a 2022 Toyota Sienna or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.91% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It carries over the redesigned hybrid formula with unchanged efficiency-focused appeal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $41,641 CAD, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $47,601 CAD average.
• It introduced the Sienna’s hybrid-only redesign and modern TNGA-K platform.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $49,850 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $47,601 CAD average.
• It keeps the hybrid formula while adding more family-focused practicality.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, availability, and the redesigned hybrid Sienna formula, the 2022 is the sensible pick. If you’re more price-sensitive, the 2021 can save you money while delivering the same core concept.
