Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Toyota Corolla Hatchback?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on strong listings.

• Deal availability: 25.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 89 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.13% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $22,275 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Toyota Corolla Hatchback's resale value?

The current average of $23,580 CAD sits slightly below last year's $24,855 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy at a more favourable point in the cycle, but it also suggests future resale gains may be more modest if the market stays competitive. If you plan to sell later, buying near the lower end of the range can help protect your position. Strong demand from satisfied owners can still support values over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Toyota Corolla Hatchback or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 25.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.13% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $22,653 CAD, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $23,580 CAD average.
• It balances Corolla practicality with a more engaging personality.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $24,953 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $23,580 CAD average.
• It adds more cargo space and a more distinctive look.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the best all-around pick if you want a strong satisfaction signal and a market that still offers some deal opportunities. If price is your top priority, the 2021 is the better value play; if you want the newer-year premium and extra practicality, the 2023 is the alternative to compare.
