Should I buy a 2022 Toyota Corolla Hatchback or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 28.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.91% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $22,401 CAD, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $23,610 CAD average.
• It blends Corolla efficiency with a more engaging personality.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $25,052 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $23,610 CAD average.
• It adds more cargo space and a more distinctive look.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the best all-around starting point if you want a well-liked hatchback at a softer price than the newer model year. If your priority is saving money, the 2021 is the better value play; if you want more utility and are willing to pay more, the 2023 is the stronger upgrade path.
