Used 2022 Nissan Frontier for Sale nearLondon, ON

How much does the 2022 Nissan Frontier cost?

Prices have softened 7.09% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 104 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Nissan Frontier a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Nissan Frontier earns a 4.7/5 user rating and an 8.3/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise its design, comfort, power, and roomy cabin, which lines up well with its use case as a midsize truck that can handle daily driving and more demanding work. The Frontier’s updated styling and enhanced powertrain also make it feel like a meaningful step forward, especially if you want a truck that feels more modern than the previous generation.

With 26.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to find value in the market.

Is the 2022 Nissan Frontier reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a truck that many owners find dependable in day-to-day use, with repeated praise for its design, comfort, power, and roomy cabin. The same feedback also notes mixed feelings about reliability compared with competitors, so you should weigh that against the truck’s strong overall owner satisfaction.

The Frontier’s updated powertrain and robust truck hardware suggest a durable setup for regular use, and Nissan’s standard maintenance-minded ownership experience can help keep running costs predictable. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that some owners have already flagged reliability concerns, so a careful inspection and service-history review matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Nissan Frontier?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The PRO-4X stands out with off-road-ready hardware, while the S and SV are more straightforward and the lowest-level S gets the smaller 8-inch touchscreen. If you want the most capability and features, the PRO-4X is the trim to focus on.
• Powertrain: You get a 3.8-litre V6 with 310 horsepower and a nine-speed automatic. It delivers strong acceleration and passing power, but fuel economy is not a strength.
• Safety package: Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard and includes blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, intelligent forward collision warning, lane departure warning, trailer sway control, rear-door alert, adaptive cruise control, and an easy-fill tire alert. Traffic sign recognition is offered on the PRO-4X grade.
• Infotainment: The lowest-level S and one-step-up SV trims get an 8-inch touchscreen, while the PRO-4X gets a 9-inch screen. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, but they require a wired connection, and wireless projection is not supported.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada estimates fuel consumption at 13.7 L/100 km in the city, 10.6 L/100 km on the highway, and 12.3 L/100 km combined.

Which 2022 Nissan Frontier trim should I buy?

The 2022 Nissan Frontier is offered in 3 trim levels: S, SV, PRO-4X.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the entry point, and it gives you the basics with the standard 8-inch touchscreen and the full Safety Shield 360 suite. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the redesigned Frontier.
• SV: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it keeps the core Frontier experience while adding a more polished feel than the S. It also stays with the 8-inch screen, so you are not paying extra just for the larger display.
• PRO-4X: This is the one to choose if you want the most capability and the most equipment. It gets the 9-inch screen, wireless charging, Wi-Fi hotspot capability, traffic sign recognition, and the off-road hardware that defines the trim.

Safety Shield 360 is standard across the lineup, so even the lower trims give you a strong safety feature set.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Nissan Frontier?

This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to shop carefully and enough price softness to create opportunities.

• Deal availability: 26.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 104 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.09% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $38,301 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Nissan Frontier's resale value?

The current average of $38,650 CAD sits slightly below last year's $41,600 CAD.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the truck more attractive to used buyers but less favourable for current owners hoping for stronger trade-in values. If you buy now, you may benefit from the softer pricing, but future resale gains could be limited if the market stays at this level.

Because prices have eased, a seller may need to be more competitive to stand out. Well-equipped examples and cleaner-condition trucks should still draw interest, especially if they are priced near the lower end of the range.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Nissan Frontier safe?

The new truck offers a bevy of standard advanced driver assistance features under the umbrella of Nissan Safety Shield 360, including safety features like blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, intelligent forward collision warning, lane departure warning, trailer sway control, rear-door alert, adaptive cruise control, and an easy-fill tire alert that honks the truck’s horn when you’ve reached the appropriate PSI for each tire. Eight airbags also come standard, and Nissan offers traffic sign recognition on the PRO-4X grade.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The main caveat is that the 2022 Frontier had not yet been crash-tested by the NHTSA or IIHS at the time of review, so you do not get published crash-test results to lean on. That makes the standard driver-assistance suite especially important when you are comparing used examples.

Should I buy a 2022 Nissan Frontier or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 26.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.09% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It brings a redesigned look, a stronger powertrain, and real off-road capability.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $41,771 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $38,650 CAD average.
• It adds a few more standard features while keeping the same basic formula.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2022 is the smarter buy because pricing has softened and the truck already feels like a major step forward. If you are willing to pay more for a slightly updated version with a few extra standard features, the 2023 is the alternative to consider.

How does the 2022 Nissan Frontier compare to the 2022 Toyota Tacoma?

Our experts score the 2022 Nissan Frontier 8.3/10 and the 2022 Toyota Tacoma 7.5/10. The Frontier brings more power, a stronger tech package, and a lower average used price, while the Tacoma counters with a lower starting MSRP and more listings to choose from. If you want the more modern-feeling truck with better expert scores, the Frontier has the edge. If you want more inventory and a lower entry price, the Tacoma remains a practical alternative.
