Used 2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross for Sale nearToronto, ON

How much does the 2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross cost?

Prices have softened 13.46% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 114 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross a good car?

The 2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross earns an 6/10 expert rating, and its appeal is strongest if you want a distinctive-looking compact SUV with a low starting price.

The standout strength is Safety at 8/10.

The overview and road-test notes both point to the same trade-off: the Eclipse Cross looks modern and bold, but it does not back that up with equally modern performance or technology. It can still make sense if you want an affordable entry point in the segment and can live with a vehicle that trails rivals in overall value.

The market shows 25.4% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross reliable?

The Eclipse Cross is described as having dated underpinnings, but it also benefits from a powertrain that has had time to mature and an infotainment system that is said to be very responsive. Its standard all-wheel-drive setup and turbocharged engine are presented as familiar rather than cutting-edge, which can be reassuring if you prefer straightforward hardware.

The cost-effectiveness notes also point to a strong warranty of 10 years and 160,000 kilometres, which helps reduce some ownership anxiety for used buyers.

For long-term ownership, the bigger risk is not outright mechanical complexity so much as ending up with a compact SUV that feels behind the segment as it ages.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The ES is the most basic version and comes with cloth upholstery, manual heated seats, an 8-inch touchscreen, and forward collision mitigation, while higher trims add more comfort and convenience features. If you want the best value, the SE is the trim that adds several useful upgrades without jumping all the way to the top.
• Powertrain: Every trim uses the same 1.5-litre turbo four-cylinder engine with 152 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque, paired with a CVT and standard all-wheel drive. It feels fine around town, but it is not especially strong on the highway.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection and automatic emergency braking. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and a surround-view parking monitor are added on higher trims.
• Infotainment: The standard setup is an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in Canada. The system is responsive, and the newer layout replaces the older touchpad controller.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada estimates are 9.6 L/100 km in city driving, 8.9 L/100 km on the highway, and 9.3 L/100 km combined.

Which 2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross trim should I buy?

The 2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross is offered in 4 trim levels: ES, SE, SEL, and GT.

Here's the short version:

• ES: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Eclipse Cross experience at the lowest price. You get the standard touchscreen, heated seats, and basic safety equipment, but it is the most stripped-back choice.
• SE: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds a useful mix of convenience and safety upgrades, including blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, push-button start, a heated steering wheel, and power-folding mirrors.
• SEL: Choose this if you want more comfort and driver-assistance features, including adaptive cruise control, a multi-view camera, heated rear seats, and a head-up display.
• GT: This is the most luxurious version, with full leather seats, an eight-speaker premium stereo, navigation, and the dual-sunroof package. It is the most feature-rich trim, but it is also the hardest one to justify on value.

The safety package starts with forward-collision warning and automatic emergency braking, while the more advanced driver-assistance features are added as you move up the range.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find some room to negotiate.

• Deal availability: 25.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 114 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.46% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $20,852 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross's resale value?

The current average of $21,104 CAD sits slightly below last year's $24,386 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Eclipse Cross has already taken a meaningful hit in the used market. If you buy one now, you may be getting in after much of the depreciation has already happened.

For a future seller, that can be a mixed blessing: the lower entry price helps, but the model’s weaker reputation versus rivals may limit how quickly it rebounds in value.

Is the 2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross safe?

The Eclipse Cross earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

It comes standard with forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection and automatic emergency braking. Higher trims add lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, and a surround-view parking monitor.

One caveat is that some of the more advanced safety features are not standard, so you need to move up the trim ladder if you want a fuller driver-assistance suite.

Should I buy a 2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 25.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.46% compared with last year.
• The 2022 model year gives you the updated exterior and infotainment changes described in the expert summary.

The bottom line: If you want the updated look and a lower used price, the 2022 is the version to target. If you are shopping mainly for value, though, you should also compare it carefully with other compact SUVs, because the Eclipse Cross still trails the segment in overall polish and capability.
