CarGurus Analysis: 2022 Lincoln Aviator
Summary
With 134 currently listed for sale and an average price of $41,737 CAD, 26.9% of 2022 Lincoln Aviator listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2022 Lincoln Aviator 5 / 5 stars.
Why it stands out
The 2022 Lincoln Aviator stands out as a midsize, three-row luxury SUV that leans hard into Lincoln’s quiet-luxury identity. It is described as smooth, hushed, and richly finished, with an aeronautical theme reflected in its styling, colours, and overall presentation. It is also smaller than the Navigator, which makes it easier to manoeuvre in urban situations while still serving as a family vehicle with an occasional-use third row.
For 2022, the Aviator’s appeal comes from its strong mix of power, comfort, and technology. It uses a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6, and the gas version is rated at 400 horsepower and 415 lb-ft of torque. Standard equipment includes second-row bench seats, three-zone climate control, Sync 3 infotainment with a touchscreen, automatic emergency braking, blind spot information system, rear cross-traffic alert, lane keeping system, and automatic headlights. Buyers could also find available features such as a 14-speaker Revel audio system, a head-up display, a 360-degree camera, a panoramic sunroof, adaptive steering, adaptive suspension with road preview, Phone-As-A-Key, a wireless charging pad, and a wi-fi hotspot.
There are a few trade-offs to keep in mind. The third row is described as cramped, rear visibility is poor, and used models with Sync 3 are considered outdated on the tech front. Even so, the 2022 Aviator remains appealing for shoppers who want a refined, well-equipped luxury SUV with a distinctive Lincoln character and a strong emphasis on comfort.

It is a nice mid-size SUV. I like the technology features it offers for the driver and the space it offers for my car seats in the second row and the ease of moving the second row seats with my car seats. Its size is very similar to the Infiniti QX60 and a little bigger than my Volvo XC90 and thats why I am trying to get the Aviator. I dont like the fact that its price has gone up but all the vehicle prices have. Its a smooth ride, I think that the Infiniti is a little smoother but it has more features than the QX60.

Being a luxury vehicle I wish it came standard with fog lights and rear heated seats. Otherwise it is a beautiful vehicle.

Very nice car. Loaded with options in the 201A package group. 30-way seats are comfortable with massage feature. Revel Sound System is exceptionally clear. Car handles well on the road and through curves. Leather appointments look extremely high-end.

“Got the Luxury package with Elements package, tow package and Lighting package. Love the car. Has everything you could need, and rides great. Gas mileage so far is around 22 mpg. Bought it to replace a 2019 Lexus RX 350L.

What is the 2022 Lincoln Aviator's resale value?
The current average of $41,683 CAD sits slightly below last year's $50,575 CAD.
That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more confidently today. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend more on condition, mileage, and equipment than on broad market momentum alone. If you keep the vehicle well maintained and buy at the right price, you may be better positioned to limit depreciation pressure later.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2022 Lincoln Aviator or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2022 if:
- 26.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 17.58% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2023 if:
- At $49,657 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $41,683 CAD average.
- It leans even more into calm, comfort-first luxury.
The bottom line: Choose the 2022 if you want the better value and a strong owner-approved luxury SUV. Consider the 2023 if you’re willing to pay more for a newer model and prefer its more comfort-focused character. For price-sensitive buyers, the 2022 is the more compelling starting point.
