Used 2022 Jeep Compass for Sale near Manitoba

How much does the 2022 Jeep Compass cost?

Prices have softened 15.78% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 342 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Jeep Compass a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Jeep Compass earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.33/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 8/10.

Owners consistently praise its value for money, comfort, interior design, and features. That lines up with the Compass’s positioning as a more premium-feeling small SUV, with upscale touches and a stronger sense of Jeep identity than many mainstream rivals.

For you, that means the Compass makes the most sense if you want a compact SUV with a more distinctive personality and a well-equipped cabin. With 28.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Jeep Compass reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable in day-to-day use, with praise centred on comfort, value, and features. That kind of response usually suggests you can count on the Compass to deliver a satisfying ownership experience if you choose a well-kept example.

Jeep’s test-drive impression also suggests the Compass has improved enough to feel more polished than before, even if it still has some rough edges. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is not outright durability so much as living with a powertrain and driving character that may feel less refined than the rest of the package.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Jeep Compass?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup starts with the Sport trim level, then moves through North, Trailhawk, Limited, RED, and Trailhawk Elite. The base Sport is the most stripped-down choice, while the Trailhawk Elite brings the most upscale cabin treatment and equipment.
• Powertrain: Every Compass uses a 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine with 177 horsepower and 172 pound-feet of torque. Front-wheel-drive models use a six-speed automatic, while 4WD models use a nine-speed automatic. The drivetrain is described as busy and slow to respond, so pay attention to how it feels in normal driving.
• Safety package: Forward-collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert are included starting from the Trailhawk grade. Lower grades miss some of those features.
• Infotainment: An 8.4-inch touchscreen is standard, while a 10.1-inch screen is available on upper grades. Wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, over-the-air updates, and voice text-to-reply are included.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada says the Compass Trailhawk Elite should have used 9.5 L/100 km in combined driving, while the test vehicle averaged 9.9 L/100 km.

Which 2022 Jeep Compass trim should I buy?

The 2022 Jeep Compass is offered in 6 trim levels: Sport, North, Trailhawk, Limited, RED, and Trailhawk Elite.

Here's the short version:

• Sport: This is the entry point, and it makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the Compass nameplate. It is also the only Canadian grade where front-wheel drive and the six-speed automatic are offered.
• North: This is the sensible step up if you want a better-balanced daily driver without chasing the highest-priced versions. It should suit you if you want more equipment than the Sport without going all the way to the premium trims.
• Trailhawk: This is the best-value choice if you want the Compass’s strongest Jeep character. It adds the off-road-focused hardware and is also where the key driver-assistance features begin.
• Limited: This trim is the better fit if you want a more upscale feel and a stronger emphasis on comfort and features rather than off-road hardware.
• RED: This is for buyers who want a more distinctive, higher-end presentation and are willing to pay for it.
• Trailhawk Elite: This is the most luxurious version, with the richest cabin materials and the most premium feel. It makes the most sense if you want the Compass at its most upscale.

Trailhawk trims are the ones to focus on if safety and capability matter most, since that is where the key driver-assistance suite begins.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Jeep Compass?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 28.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 342 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.78% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $23,895 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Jeep Compass's resale value?

The current average of $23,895 CAD sits slightly below last year's $28,371 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Compass has become more accessible for used buyers, but it also means a future seller may face a softer market than the previous year. If you buy at today’s average, you are starting from a lower entry point, which can help limit depreciation exposure if the market stays steady.

The Compass’s premium-brand positioning and strong owner satisfaction should help support demand, especially for better-equipped trims. Still, resale will likely depend heavily on condition, mileage, and whether the vehicle has the features shoppers want most.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Jeep Compass safe?

The 2022 Jeep Compass carries a previous three-star rollover resistance rating from NHTSA, and Jeep still needs to improve headlight performance based on earlier IIHS results.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Jeep improved the Compass’s safety and driver-assistance tech for 2022, but in Canada the key features require moving up in grades. Forward-collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert are included starting from the Trailhawk grade.

That means lower trims leave you with fewer standard safety aids, so you should check carefully before buying. The system also showed some false positives in testing, and the lane-keep assist could feel too insistent at lower speeds.

Should I buy a 2022 Jeep Compass or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 28.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.78% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Jeep improved the Compass’s premium feel and tech this year.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $27,671 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $23,895 CAD average.
• It adds a standard turbocharged engine and standard all-wheel drive.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the better pick if you want the lower price and still value the Compass’s upgraded cabin, tech, and Jeep character. If you are willing to spend more for a stronger powertrain and standard all-wheel drive, the 2023 is the more modern choice.
