Yes — the 2022 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid earns a 4.9/5 user rating and a 7.3/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Performance, Form and function, and Safety.

You get a strong mix of smooth, quiet driving, impressive fuel economy, and a wealth of high-end features. It also stands out for its fresh-look cabin and enough space for small families, while the hybrid powertrain adds a more engaging driving feel than you might expect from a compact crossover.

For shoppers who want a practical daily driver that still feels polished and a bit more distinctive, it fits that brief well. 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Drivers consistently describe it as smooth, quiet, and dependable, with many praising its impressive fuel economy and strong value for the price. The overall feedback points to a vehicle that owners feel good about living with day to day, especially for long-term use.

The hybrid powertrain and refined suspension also support the impression that this is a vehicle you can count on for regular commuting and family duty. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is less about core reliability and more about finding the right configuration and condition in a market where preferred trims can be limited.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lower trims use 17-inch alloy wheels, while the N Line, Luxury, and Ultimate grades get 19-inch wheels. The Preferred trim adds a panoramic sunroof with the Trend Package, and the Luxury and Ultimate trims add a hands-free smart liftgate. You should also note that the Preferred trim brings an eight-way power driver seat, a heated and leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a proximity key.
• Powertrain: The hybrid uses a 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine with an electric motor for a combined 226 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. It comes with a six-speed automatic transmission, and all-wheel drive is standard with most hybrid models.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, cyclist detection, a driver-attention monitor, lane-keeping assist, lane-following assist, and rear occupant alert. The Preferred trim adds blind-spot collision avoidance, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, and safe-exit warning, while the Ultimate adds a surround-view monitor, highway-driving assist, navigation, blind-spot view monitor, and remote smart park assist.
• Infotainment: Lower grades use an 8-inch screen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, while the 10.25-inch screen in upper trims requires a wired connection for projection. The system also uses touch-capacitive controls rather than physical buttons or knobs.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada lists the Tucson Hybrid at 6.3 L/100 km in the city, 6.6 L/100 km on the highway, and 6.4 L/100 km combined.

Which 2022 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid trim should I buy?

The 2022 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid is offered in 4 trim levels: Essential, Preferred, Luxury, Ultimate.

Here's the short version:

• Essential: This is the entry point, but the hybrid’s strongest appeal starts to show once you move up from the base trim. If you want the lowest-cost way into the hybrid lineup, this is the one to consider, but it is the least feature-rich.
• Preferred: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds a more complete comfort and safety package, including the power driver seat, heated steering wheel, proximity key, blind-spot collision avoidance, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, and safe-exit warning.
• Luxury: This trim is the compelling step-up if you want more convenience and a more premium feel, including the hands-free smart liftgate and additional upscale equipment.
• Ultimate: This is the most fully equipped version, adding the surround-view monitor, highway-driving assist, navigation, blind-spot view monitor, remote smart park assist, ventilated front seats, memory for the driver’s seat, and the larger digital driver display.

The safety package expands meaningfully as you move up the lineup, so the Preferred trim is the key one to compare carefully against the base model.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some confidence if you are willing to compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 149 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.35% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $26,875 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid's resale value?

The current average of $27,701 CAD sits slightly below last year's $31,605 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the model has become more accessible for used buyers, but it also means a future seller may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy well now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later, especially if you choose a desirable trim and keep the vehicle in strong condition.

The current market also shows that shoppers are still interested in this model, which helps support demand. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid safe?

The 2022 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid earns a Top Safety Pick+ from the IIHS.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, cyclist detection, a driver-attention monitor, lane-keeping assist, lane-following assist, and rear occupant alert. The Preferred trim adds blind-spot collision avoidance, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, and safe-exit warning, while the Ultimate trim adds a surround-view monitor, highway-driving assist, navigation, blind-spot view monitor, and remote smart park assist.

One caveat is that the most advanced safety and convenience features are not standard across the lineup, so you will need to move up trims to get the full suite.

Should I buy a 2022 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.35% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 stands out for its brand-new design, refined suspension, and hybrid powertrain that delivers compelling performance and driving dynamics.

The bottom line: If you want the freshest design, strong owner satisfaction, and a hybrid that feels more polished than a typical compact crossover, the 2022 is the primary year to target. If your priority is stretching your budget, keep an eye on lower-priced listings and focus on the trims that give you the best mix of safety and convenience.
