The expert assessment also points to a refined suspension and a hybrid powertrain that delivers compelling performance and driving dynamics, which supports the impression of a vehicle you can count on over time. If you’re buying used, the main ownership risk is finding the right configuration, since some shoppers note limited availability in preferred trims.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lower trims use 17-inch alloy wheels, while the N Line, Luxury, and Ultimate grades move to 19-inch wheels. The Preferred trim adds an eight-way power driver seat, a heated and leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a proximity key, while the Luxury and Ultimate trims add a hands-free smart liftgate. If you want the most convenience features, the higher trims are the ones to target.
• Powertrain: The hybrid uses a 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine with an electric motor for a combined 226 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. It feels noticeably quicker than the gas-powered Tucson, and the six-speed automatic manages the hybrid setup well.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, cyclist detection, a driver-attention monitor, lane-keeping assist, lane-following assist, and rear occupant alert. The Preferred trim adds blind-spot collision avoidance, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, and safe-exit warning. The Ultimate trim adds a surround-view monitor, highway-driving assist, navigation, blind-spot view monitor, and remote smart park assist.
• Infotainment: Lower grades get an 8-inch screen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, while the 10.25-inch screen in higher trims requires a wired connection for phone projection. The larger display looks great, but you should check whether wireless connectivity matters to you.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada lists the Tucson Hybrid at 6.3 L/100 km in the city, 6.6 L/100 km on the highway, and 6.4 L/100 km combined.

Which 2022 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid trim should I buy?

The 2022 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid is offered in 3 trim levels: Luxury, Ultimate, and Preferred.

Here's the short version:

• Luxury: This is the entry point to the hybrid lineup and the best-value trim if you want the hybrid powertrain without stretching too far. It is described as a compelling option, though it still sits near the $40,000 mark.
• Preferred: This is the trim to focus on if you want the strongest balance of equipment and value. It adds the power driver seat, heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, proximity key, and important safety upgrades like blind-spot collision avoidance, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, and safe-exit warning.
• Ultimate: Choose this if you want the most technology and convenience features, including the surround-view monitor, highway-driving assist, blind-spot view monitor, remote smart park assist, ventilated front seats, memory for the driver’s seat, and the larger digital driver display.

The safety package steps up meaningfully as you move from the lower trims to Preferred and then Ultimate, so it’s worth comparing those feature jumps carefully.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 141 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.68% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $26,874 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid's resale value?

The current average of $27,615 CAD sits slightly below last year's $31,624 CAD.

That softer pricing trend suggests future sellers may need to be realistic about expectations if they plan to trade or sell soon. The current market is still giving buyers some room, which can put pressure on resale values in the near term. Even so, strong owner satisfaction helps support demand, especially for a model that combines hybrid efficiency with a polished driving experience.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
