Owners consistently praise its comfort, spaciousness, and driving experience, and many also value how versatile it is for family travel and long trips. Honda’s maintenance-friendly ownership story is helped by the model’s straightforward mechanical setup and its focus on practical use rather than complexity. What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Honda Odyssey?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Touring trim adds the most visible upgrades, including dark grey 19-inch alloy wheels, leather upholstery, CabinWatch, CabinTalk, rear-seat entertainment, an 11-speaker premium audio system, wireless charging, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Lower trims miss some of those convenience and safety features, so you should check carefully whether the equipment you want is standard or reserved for Touring.
• Powertrain: Every 2022 Odyssey uses a 3.5-litre V6 with a 10-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. It is not offered with all-wheel drive or an electrified powertrain, and the fuel-consumption figure cited is 10.6 L/100 km in combined driving.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing is standard and includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, automatic high-beam headlights, and a rear-seat reminder system. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are limited to Touring.
• Infotainment: Starting with EX-L Navi, you get an 8-inch touchscreen, satellite radio, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. EX-L Navi and Touring add navigation, while Touring also brings HondaLink connected services with WiFi hotspot access, a 10.2-inch rear entertainment screen, and wireless charging.
• Fuel efficiency: The cited combined fuel-consumption figure is 10.6 L/100 km, and the road-test result mentioned is 10.4 L/100 km.

Which 2022 Honda Odyssey trim should I buy?

The 2022 Honda Odyssey is offered in 3 trim levels: EX-L Navi, EX-L Res, Touring.

Here's the short version:

• EX-L Navi: This is the entry point if you want the core Odyssey experience with the 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, satellite radio, Bluetooth, and navigation. It makes sense if you want the essentials without paying for the Touring’s extra convenience and entertainment gear.
• EX-L Res: This trim is aimed at buyers who want rear-seat entertainment added to the EX-L Navi formula. It is a sensible choice if keeping passengers occupied matters more to you than the Touring’s broader tech and safety upgrades.
• Touring: This is the best-value trim if you want the most complete Odyssey. It adds CabinWatch, CabinTalk, rear-seat entertainment, wireless charging, an 11-speaker premium audio system, HondaLink with WiFi hotspot access, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.

The Touring trim is also the only one specifically called out with blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Honda Odyssey?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.

• Deal availability: 28.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 128 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.52% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $38,200 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Honda Odyssey's resale value?

The current average of $38,200 CAD sits slightly below last year's $41,755 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become a little more buyer-friendly, which can make future resale a bit more competitive for sellers. If you buy now, you may benefit from the lower entry price, but you should also expect resale values to reflect the same broader cooling trend.

The Odyssey’s strong family appeal and practical reputation should still help it hold attention from used shoppers. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Honda Odyssey safe?

The 2022 Honda Odyssey earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS and an overall five-star rating from NHTSA.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is standard on all trims and includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, automatic high-beam headlights, and a rear-seat reminder system. If you want blind-spot monitoring or rear cross-traffic alert, you need the Touring trim.

One caveat is that the system can feel abrupt in use, and the blind-spot warning light placement is less intuitive than it should be. That means you should test the driver-assistance behaviour carefully on your own roads before you buy.

Should I buy a 2022 Honda Odyssey or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 28.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.52% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It keeps the Odyssey’s familiar, enjoyable driving character without adding major changes.

Consider the 2021 if:

• It focuses on family practicality, improved safety, upgraded technology, and easier daily use.

The bottom line: If you want the familiar Odyssey formula and a market that is currently a bit softer on pricing, the 2022 is the cleaner pick. If you are especially price-sensitive, the 2021 is worth a look for its practical family-first strengths.
