User feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable, with owners repeatedly describing it as a comfortable, value-rich SUV they can count on over time. The expert drive notes also emphasise that Genesis includes complimentary scheduled maintenance for the first five years or 100,000 kilometres of ownership, which helps reduce early ownership burden. What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Genesis GV70?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base model is well equipped, but owners note that some tech features are missing there, so you should compare equipment carefully before choosing the cheapest version.
• Powertrain: The GV70 is offered with a 2.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder or a 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6, and every version uses an eight-speed automatic with standard all-wheel drive.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes blind spot collision avoidance assist, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, forward collision avoidance assist, automatic high beams, driver attention monitor, rear occupant alert, and Genesis Highway Driving Assist with lane centring and automatic lane changing.
• Infotainment: You get a 14.5-inch high-definition screen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster on the premium Sport Plus grade; the phone integration is not wireless.
• Fuel efficiency: The 3.5-litre V6 is rated at 11.6 L/100 km combined.

Which 2022 Genesis GV70 trim should I buy?

The 2022 Genesis GV70 is offered in 6 trim levels: Select, Advanced, Advanced Plus, Prestige, 3.5T Sport, and Sport Plus.

Here's the short version:

• Select: This is the entry point, and it makes sense if you want the GV70’s core luxury, standard all-wheel drive, and strong value without stretching for extras.
• Advanced: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it adds more equipment while staying on the more affordable side of the range.
• Advanced Plus: Choose this if you want a richer feature set and are willing to pay more for it.
• Prestige: This is the top trim for the 2.5-litre engine, so it suits you if you want the most complete version of that powertrain.
• 3.5T Sport: Pick this if you want the stronger V6 and a more performance-focused feel.
• Sport Plus: This is the most fully loaded version, adding the premium touches and the most advanced equipment, including the 3D digital instrument cluster and Lexicon audio.

The safety package is strong across the lineup, but the base-model equipment gaps make it worth comparing trims carefully before you buy.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Genesis GV70?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some patience and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 107 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.55% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $35,873 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Genesis GV70's resale value?

The current average of $35,873 CAD sits slightly below last year's $41,020 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the GV70 has become more accessible in the used market, which can help you as a buyer but may pressure future resale returns for sellers. If you plan to sell later, the current trend implies you should expect a more competitive pricing environment than last year. Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.1/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Genesis GV70 safe?

The 2022 Genesis GV70 earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

It comes standard with ten safety features and driver-assist technologies, including blind spot collision avoidance assist, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, forward collision avoidance assist, automatic high beams, and a driver attention monitor. Genesis Highway Driving Assist is also standard, adding lane centring and automatic lane changing, though it is not a hands-free system. A rear occupant alert system is included as well, and it uses radar to detect movement in the second row.

Should I buy a 2022 Genesis GV70 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.55% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.1/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• It launched Genesis’s compact luxury SUV push with strong standard safety and tech.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $42,072 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $35,873 CAD average.
• An all-electric model joins the lineup.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2022 is the smarter buy because it combines a lower average price with strong owner satisfaction and a broad standard feature set. If you’re willing to spend more for a broader powertrain choice, the 2023 is worth a look.
