Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Ford Escape?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer's market, so you can be choosy without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 28.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 479 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.41% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $21,945 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Ford Escape's resale value?

The current average of $21,945 CAD sits slightly below last year's $25,345 CAD.

That softer pricing can be good news if you're buying now, but it also means a future resale may need competitive pricing to stand out. If market conditions stay similar, you should expect value retention to depend heavily on mileage, condition, and equipment. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Ford Escape or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 28.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.41% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $26,059 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $21,945 CAD average.
• It adds more safety and infotainment technology.

The bottom line: You should start with the 2022 if value matters most, because it combines a lower average price with a strong owner rating. If you want newer tech and are willing to pay more, the 2023 is the better secondary path.
