This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 30.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 491 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.06% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $22,498 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Ford Escape's resale value?

The current average of $22,498 CAD sits slightly below last year's $25,876 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy at a more favourable entry point, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. If you plan to sell later, buying well below the current average matters more than usual. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Ford Escape or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 30.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.06% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $26,780 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $22,498 CAD average.
• It adds more safety and infotainment technology.

The bottom line: Choose the 2022 if you want the better value and a wider chance of finding a deal. Consider the 2023 if you’re willing to pay more for newer equipment and a more up-to-date feature set; if you’re price-sensitive, the 2022 is the stronger starting point.
