Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Ford Escape?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 30.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 479 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.36% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $21,932 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Ford Escape's resale value?

The current average of $21,932 CAD sits slightly below last year's $25,314 CAD.

That softer pricing can be helpful if you’re buying now, but it also means a future seller may face a more competitive resale environment if market conditions stay similar. If prices stabilise, today’s lower entry point could help support demand from value-focused shoppers later. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Ford Escape or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 30.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.36% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $26,093 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $21,932 CAD average.
• It adds more safety and infotainment technology.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2022 is the stronger starting point because it combines a lower average price with decent deal availability. If you’re willing to spend more for newer tech and a more up-to-date feel, the 2023 is the better alternative for you.
