The expert drive notes also support the Bronco’s dependability by describing it as well sorted on pavement and capable in demanding conditions. If you are buying used, the main long-term ownership risk is less about durability and more about finding one that has been equipped the way you want without stretching your budget.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Ford Bronco?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup ranges from the two-door base model to higher-spec versions such as Big Bend, Black Diamond, Outer Banks, Badlands, and Wildtrak, with Everglades and Bronco Raptor at the top end. Base models miss some advanced safety features that are available on higher trims or through packages, so you should check carefully what is included.
• Powertrain: You can choose between a turbocharged 2.3-litre four-cylinder and an optional turbocharged 2.7-litre V6. The four-cylinder is available with a seven-speed manual in two-door form, while the V6 and all four-door models use a 10-speed automatic.
• Safety package: The Bronco includes hill-start assist, hill descent control, and trailer sway control, while frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts, lane-keep assist, rear parking sensors, and automatic high beams are available on all but the base trim through the Mid package. The High package adds front parking sensors and a surround-view camera system, and the Lux package adds adaptive cruise control and evasive steering assist.
• Infotainment: You get Sync 4 with quick responses and sharp graphics, plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, and an available wireless charging pad.
• Fuel efficiency: The base two-door with the four-cylinder and automatic transmission is estimated at 12.1 L/100 km in the city, 11.2 L/100 km on the highway, and 11.7 L/100 km combined. The V6 ranges between 12.4 and 15.3 L/100 km combined, with the highest figure applying to the Raptor.

Which 2022 Ford Bronco trim should I buy?

The 2022 Ford Bronco is offered in 6 trim levels: Big Bend, Black Diamond, Outer Banks, Badlands, Wildtrak, and the base two-door Bronco.

Here's the short version:

• Big Bend: This is the entry point if you want the Bronco experience without jumping too far up the price ladder. It gives you the core Bronco character and is the trim to start with if you want the broadest balance of value and capability.
• Black Diamond: Choose this if you want a more trail-focused setup than the base trim and expect to spend more time off pavement. It suits buyers who want extra ruggedness without moving into the pricier upper trims.
• Outer Banks: This is the better pick if you care more about everyday comfort and style while still keeping Bronco capability. It is a strong fit for you if your SUV will spend more time on-road than on the trail.
• Badlands: This is the best-value choice for serious off-road shoppers who want a more capable setup without going all the way to the top of the range. It is the trim to target if trail performance matters most.
• Wildtrak: Pick this if you want one of the most capable versions in the lineup and are willing to pay for it. It is aimed at buyers who want a more extreme Bronco experience.
• Bronco: The base two-door is the simplest way into the lineup, but it is also the one most likely to leave you wanting more equipment. It makes sense if your priority is getting into a Bronco at the lowest possible starting point.

The safety-package note to keep in mind is that advanced driver-assistance features are not standard on the base trim.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Ford Bronco?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it makes sense to compare listings carefully and move quickly on the right one.

• Deal availability: 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 336 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.50% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $40,429 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Ford Bronco's resale value?

The current average of $40,429 CAD sits slightly below last year's $45,171 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Bronco has cooled from its earlier peak, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you are thinking about future resale. For a seller, the current market shows that pricing needs to stay realistic to attract attention. The Bronco’s strong demand and broad appeal should still support interest, but the softer trend means you should not expect a quick premium unless your vehicle is especially well equipped or well kept.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Ford Bronco safe?

The 2022 Ford Bronco earns Good ratings from IIHS in frontal, side, and roof strength tests, and Acceptable in head restraints and seats. The four-door has received four-star ratings for frontal crash protection from NHTSA, and both the four- and two-door Broncos have three-star rollover protection ratings.

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety features include hill-start assist, hill descent control, trailer sway control, dual-stage front and side airbags, side-curtain airbags for both rows, and a rollover sensor. Frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts, lane-keep assist, rear parking sensors, and automatic high beams are available on all but the base trim as part of the Mid package. The High package adds front parking sensors and a surround-view camera system, while the Lux package adds adaptive cruise control and evasive steering assist. The main caveat is that advanced safety features are not standard, especially on the base trim.

Should I buy a 2022 Ford Bronco or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.50% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines serious off-road ability with better pavement manners than its closest rival.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $49,617 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $40,429 CAD average.
• It adds nine distinct models and broader configuration choice.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2022 if you want the better value and can find the right trim at a sensible price. If you are willing to spend more for a wider model range, the 2023 is the better path for shoppers who want more choice.
