Used 2022 Chevrolet Traverse for Sale nearSt Catharines, ON

How much does the 2022 Chevrolet Traverse cost?

Prices have softened 15.50% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 131 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Chevrolet Traverse a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Chevrolet Traverse earns a 4.9/5 user rating and a 7.2/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its spacious interior, comfortable seating, large cargo area, powerful engine, and helpful safety features. That lines up well with its role as a three-row SUV for families who want minivan-like usefulness without moving up to a larger, more expensive full-size SUV.

The trade-offs are clear too: the ride can get noisy, it can float on uneven pavement, and some interior materials feel cheap. In practical terms, it suits you best if you want a roomy, easy-to-live-with family SUV and can accept a few refinement compromises.

With 32.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still enough market activity to give you some negotiating room.

Is the 2022 Chevrolet Traverse reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with repeated praise for the Traverse’s strong engine, spacious cabin, and helpful safety features. That kind of feedback suggests you can count on it for everyday family duty if you choose a well-kept example.

The expert assessment also supports that impression by describing the Traverse as easy to live with and well matched to family use, with straightforward controls and a practical layout. The main long-term ownership risk for used buyers is that some examples may have been driven hard or maintained inconsistently, so service history matters.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Chevrolet Traverse?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base LS gives you the essentials, but the higher trims add more convenience and comfort. The RS stands out for its blacked-out styling and 20-inch wheels, while Premier and High Country bring more upscale equipment. If you want the best value, the mid-range trims are the ones to compare most closely.
• Powertrain: You get a 3.6-litre V6 with 310 horsepower and a 9-speed automatic transmission. It is the only engine choice, and it is tuned for everyday family use rather than excitement.
• Safety package: Chevy Safety Assist is standard and includes forward-collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, automatic high-beam headlights, and a following-distance indicator. The LS can be optioned with a Safety Package that adds rear parking assist sensors, blind-spot monitoring, lane-change assist, and rear cross-traffic alert.
• Infotainment: The LS gets a 7-inch touchscreen, while other versions use an 8-inch high-definition display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, along with Bluetooth for two smartphones and connected services. OTA capability is not mentioned.
• Fuel efficiency: The official Natural Resources Canada fuel economy rating is 11.8 L/100 km in combined driving, and the test vehicle returned 11.3 L/100 km.

Which 2022 Chevrolet Traverse trim should I buy?

The 2022 Chevrolet Traverse is offered in 6 trim levels: LS, LT, True North, RS, Premier, and High Country.

Here's the short version:

• LS: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Traverse’s core space and utility at the lowest price. It is the trim to consider if you want the basics and plan to add the Safety Package for extra driver assistance.
• LT: This is the trim to watch if you want a better balance of equipment and value. It can be optioned with the upgraded safety features, and it sits in the middle of the range without pushing you into the pricier luxury-focused trims.
• True North: This trim adds another step up in equipment while staying focused on everyday family use. It is a sensible choice if you want more content than the LS without going all the way to the RS or Premier.
• RS: This is the style-forward choice, with blacked-out trim and 20-inch wheels. It also gets the Bose premium sound system and some of the more desirable safety and visibility features, so it suits you if appearance and a richer feature set matter.
• Premier: This is where the Traverse starts to feel more upscale, with the 8-inch digital instrumentation panel and the Safety Alert Seat. It is a strong pick if you want a more premium daily driver.
• High Country: This is the top trim and the most fully equipped version. Choose it if you want the most comfort and convenience features the Traverse offers.

Chevy Safety Assist is standard on all trims, while the LS is the only one that can be optioned with the extra Safety Package because those features are standard elsewhere.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Chevrolet Traverse?

The market looks moderately favourable if you are a selective buyer.

• Deal availability: 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 131 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.50% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $33,042 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Chevrolet Traverse's resale value?

The current average of $33,973 CAD sits slightly below last year's $40,206 CAD.

That drop suggests the Traverse has become more affordable for buyers, which can make it harder for future sellers to command top dollar unless the vehicle is especially well equipped or exceptionally clean. For you as an owner, that means resale value may be more sensitive to condition, mileage, and trim than it would be in a hotter market.

The softer pricing also means the model is competing more aggressively against other family SUVs, so a well-maintained example with desirable features should stand out more easily. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Chevrolet Traverse safe?

The 2022 Chevrolet Traverse earns Good ratings in most IIHS categories, but Acceptable in the new side impact test and Poor for its new LED headlights and seatbelt reminders.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Chevy Safety Assist is standard on all Traverse trim levels, and it includes forward-collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, automatic high-beam headlights, and a following-distance indicator. The LS can be upgraded with a Safety Package that adds rear parking assist sensors, blind-spot monitoring, lane-change assist, and rear cross-traffic alert, while those features are standard on the other trims.

One important caveat is that the Traverse does not offer adaptive cruise control with lane-centring assist, so if you want a more advanced highway-driving system, you will need to look elsewhere.

Should I buy a 2022 Chevrolet Traverse or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.50% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds standard Chevy Safety Assist across the lineup, plus a broader safety package on most trims.

The bottom line: The 2022 Traverse makes sense if you want a roomy, family-friendly three-row SUV with strong owner satisfaction and a softer used-market price. If you are price-sensitive, it is worth shopping carefully because the current market gives you some leverage, but the best examples should still move quickly.
