Used 2022 Chevrolet Traverse for Sale nearBarrie, ON

How much does the 2022 Chevrolet Traverse cost?

Prices have softened 17.52% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 132 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Chevrolet Traverse a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Chevrolet Traverse earns a 4.86/5 user rating and a 7.17/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise the spacious interior, large cargo area, and helpful safety features. The user feedback also points to a powerful engine and comfortable seating, which fits the Traverse’s role as a practical three-row SUV for everyday family use.

The trade-offs are worth keeping in mind: the cabin materials are described as cheap, the ride can feel floaty on uneven pavement, and road noise can be noticeable. Even so, if you want a roomy, easy-to-use SUV without moving up to a larger truck-based model, the Traverse’s value proposition is clear.

Only 27.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the better examples may not sit around for long.

Is the 2022 Chevrolet Traverse reliable?

Owners rate it 4.86/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with praise centred on the Traverse’s strong engine, spacious cabin, and useful safety equipment. That combination suggests you can count on it to handle family duties without much drama.

The expert review also supports that impression by describing the Traverse as a sensible, practical alternative for buyers who do not need heavy-duty capability. If you are shopping used, the main long-term ownership risk is less about outright durability and more about whether the vehicle’s comfort, noise, and material quality meet your expectations over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Chevrolet Traverse?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base LS starts with a 7-inch touchscreen and standard all-wheel drive, but it misses some of the richer equipment found higher up the range. The RS sits above the LS, LT, and True North models and adds a more distinctive look, while Premier and High Country bring additional upscale touches such as a digital instrument panel.
• Powertrain: You get one engine choice: a 3.6-litre V6 with 310 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque, paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. It is a good fit for the Traverse’s size, and the SUV can tow up to 2,268 kilograms when properly equipped.
• Safety package: Chevy Safety Assist is standard and includes forward-collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, automatic high-beam headlights, and a following-distance indicator. On the LS, the Safety Package adds rear parking assist sensors, blind-spot monitoring, lane-change assist, and rear cross-traffic alert; those features are standard on other trims. RS, Premier, and High Country also add adaptive cruise control, higher-speed automatic emergency braking, and rear pedestrian alert, while Premier and High Country get the vibrating Safety Alert Seat.
• Infotainment: The LS uses a 7-inch touchscreen, while other versions get an 8-inch high-definition display. Both systems include Bluetooth for two smartphones, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and connected services with a Wi-Fi hotspot. The system can also be equipped with navigation, SiriusXM 360L, and additional apps, and it supports over-the-air-style connected functionality through its broader services package.
• Fuel efficiency: The official Natural Resources Canada fuel economy rating is 11.8 litres per 100 kilometres in combined driving, and the test vehicle returned 11.3 L/100 km on the evaluation loop.

Which 2022 Chevrolet Traverse trim should I buy?

The 2022 Chevrolet Traverse is offered in 6 trim levels: LS, LT, True North, RS, Premier, High Country.

Here's the short version:

• LS: This is the entry point, and it makes sense if you want the Traverse’s space and standard all-wheel drive at the lowest price. It is the most basic version, so you should expect fewer convenience and safety extras than the higher trims.
• LT: This is the sensible step up if you want a better balance of equipment and value. It can also be optioned with some of the more advanced safety features, which makes it a strong middle-ground choice.
• True North: This trim sits in the middle of the lineup and gives you a more equipped Traverse without jumping all the way to the sportier or luxury-oriented versions.
• RS: This is the best-value pick if you want a more distinctive look and a richer feel without going all the way to the top trims. It adds blacked-out styling, 20-inch wheels, a Bose premium sound system, and the more advanced safety content that includes adaptive cruise control.
• Premier: Choose this if you want a more upscale Traverse with added comfort and convenience features, including the digital instrument panel and the vibrating Safety Alert Seat.
• High Country: This is the top trim if you want the most premium version of the Traverse, with the same advanced safety content as the RS and Premier plus the most upscale presentation in the lineup.

Chevy Safety Assist is standard across the range, but the LS needs the optional Safety Package to match the broader safety equipment that comes standard on the other trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Chevrolet Traverse?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find decent opportunities.

• Deal availability: 27.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 132 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.52% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $33,047 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Chevrolet Traverse's resale value?

The current average of $33,125 CAD sits slightly below last year's $40,159 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Traverse has become more accessible for used buyers, but it also means a future seller may face a softer market than owners saw a year ago. If you buy now, you are entering at a lower price point than recent sellers enjoyed, which can help cushion depreciation if the market stays steady.

The Traverse’s appeal as a roomy, practical three-row SUV should continue to support demand, especially among shoppers who value space and straightforward usability. Still, the current trend shows that resale strength depends heavily on condition, trim, and how well the vehicle is priced against similar family SUVs.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.86/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Chevrolet Traverse safe?

The 2022 Chevrolet Traverse earns Good ratings in most IIHS categories, Acceptable in the new side impact test, and Poor for its new LED headlights and seatbelt reminders.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Chevy Safety Assist is standard on all trims and includes forward-collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, automatic high-beam headlights, and a following-distance indicator. The optional Safety Package on the LS adds rear parking assist sensors, blind-spot monitoring, lane-change assist, and rear cross-traffic alert, while those features are standard on the other trims.

A key caveat is that the Traverse does not offer a more advanced system that combines adaptive cruise control with lane-centring assist.

Should I buy a 2022 Chevrolet Traverse or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 27.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.52% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.86/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 brings Chevy Safety Assist standard across all trims, which is a meaningful safety update for this year.

The bottom line: If you want a roomy, easy-to-use three-row SUV and you find a well-priced 2022, this model year makes a strong case for itself. It is especially appealing if you value space, straightforward technology, and a lower entry price than many larger SUVs. If you are more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may still work, but the 2022’s standard safety content and softened pricing make it the cleaner buy for many shoppers.
