What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LS, LT, Activ, and RS each bring different equipment and character. The LT is the value-minded choice in the lineup, while the RS adds the most expensive presentation; the cabin materials are still described as hard plastic, so you should judge whether the higher trims justify the extra spend.
• Powertrain: In Canada, the Trailblazer uses the 1.3-litre turbo three-cylinder engine with 155 hp and 174 lb-ft of torque. Front-wheel drive comes with a CVT, while AWD adds a nine-speed automatic and a more sophisticated rear suspension.
• Safety package: Chevy Safety Assist is standard and includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, and automatic high-beam headlights. Blind-spot warning with lane-change assistance, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control are available.
• Infotainment: You get a 7-inch or 8-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, Bluetooth, and Chevrolet Connected Services readiness. Teen Driver is standard, and wireless charging is available.
• Fuel efficiency: The official Natural Resources Canada combined rating is 8.4 L/100 km with AWD and 7.6 L/100 km combined with FWD.

Which 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer trim should I buy?

The 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer is offered in 4 trim levels: LS, LT, Activ, and RS.

Here's the short version:

• LS: This is the entry point, but the Trailblazer’s appeal is strongest when you move beyond the base setup and into the better-equipped trims.
• LT: This is the best-value trim. It is the one the review specifically points to as the smarter buy, especially if you want to upgrade features without pushing the price too high.
• Activ: Choose this if you want the most outdoorsy flavour in the lineup, with off-road suspension tuning, sport-terrain tires, and a front skid plate.
• RS: This is the style-forward choice, with the highest MSRP and the most premium presentation, but the review says it can become too expensive once options are added.

Chevy Safety Assist is standard across the lineup, so you do not need to move up a trim just to get the core safety suite.

Should I buy a 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 24.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.35% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.33/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• It adds a heated steering wheel and a dealer-installed trailering package.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $19,424 CAD, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $22,109 CAD average.
• It launched the Trailblazer as a new entry-point SUV with style, value, and available traction.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $24,109 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $22,109 CAD average.
• It adds new paint choices and keeps the Trailblazer’s easy-to-use tech and strong value focus.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the right pick if you want the Trailblazer’s updated equipment and a softer used-market price than last year. If your priority is saving money, the 2021 is the cheaper route; if you want a newer-feeling alternative and do not mind paying more, the 2023 is the next step up.
