What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LT stands out as the best-value choice, while the RS adds the highest MSRP and more style-focused equipment. The cabin uses a lot of hard plastic, so you should judge whether the interior feel matches the asking price, especially on higher-priced examples.
• Powertrain: In Canada, the Trailblazer uses a 1.3-litre turbocharged three-cylinder engine with 155 hp and 174 lb-ft of torque. Front-wheel drive uses a CVT, while AWD brings a nine-speed automatic and a more sophisticated rear suspension for better ride and handling.
• Safety package: Chevy Safety Assist is standard and includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, and automatic high-beam headlights. Blind-spot warning with lane-change assistance, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control are available.
• Infotainment: You get a 7-inch or 8-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, Bluetooth, and Chevrolet Connected Services readiness. Teen Driver technology is standard, and wireless smartphone charging is available.
• Fuel efficiency: The official Natural Resources Canada combined rating is 8.4 L/100 km with AWD and 7.6 L/100 km with FWD.

Which 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer trim should I buy?

The 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer is offered in 4 trim levels: LS, LT, Activ, and RS.

Here's the short version:

• LS: This is the entry point, but the available information suggests you should compare it carefully against the LT because the Trailblazer’s value story improves as equipment rises.
• LT: This is the best-value trim. It is the one the expert review points to as the smarter buy, especially if you want to balance price, equipment, and everyday usefulness.
• Activ: Choose this if you want the more rugged-looking version with off-road suspension tuning, sport-terrain tires, and a front skid plate.
• RS: Pick this if style matters most and you want the highest-priced, most appearance-focused version, but the review suggests it is too expensive for what you get.

Chevrolet Safety Assist is standard across the lineup, so you do not need to move up a trim just to get the core safety suite.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.

• Deal availability: 28.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 220 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.10% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $22,037 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer's resale value?

The current average of $22,037 CAD sits slightly below last year's $24,789 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the Trailblazer is currently in a more buyer-friendly phase, which can make it harder for a future seller to command top dollar immediately. If you buy well now, you may have less downside risk than someone who paid closer to the prior-year average.

The model’s broad appeal, practical interior, and strong owner satisfaction should help support demand over time. Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.33/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 28.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.10% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.33/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• It adds a heated steering wheel, new paint colours, and an available dealer-installed trailering package.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $19,483 CAD, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $22,037 CAD average.
• It launched the Trailblazer as a stylish, affordable, tech-rich small SUV.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $24,264 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $22,037 CAD average.
• It keeps the same practical formula while adding new paint choices and a refreshed appearance package.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the best all-around pick if you want the strongest mix of price, safety, and everyday usability. If your budget is tighter, the 2021 is the value play; if you want a newer example and do not mind paying more, the 2023 is the alternative to compare.
