Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Chevrolet Malibu?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy if you are patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 175 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.84% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $19,411 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Chevrolet Malibu's resale value?

The current average of $20,107 CAD sits slightly below last year's $22,807 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the Malibu has already absorbed some of its near-term depreciation, which can help future sellers if the market stays steady. For you, that means buying at the right price matters, because a lower entry point gives you more room to recover value later. The model’s value-focused reputation should continue to support demand among shoppers looking for a practical midsize sedan.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Chevrolet Malibu or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.84% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of value, comfort, and owner satisfaction, the 2022 is the one to target. If your priority is stretching your budget further, you may want to compare nearby model years and focus on whichever one gives you the best combination of price and condition.
