Used 2022 Cadillac Escalade for Sale nearCalgary, AB

How much does the 2022 Cadillac Escalade cost?

Prices have softened 7.22% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 93 listings available, which suggests you should have some room to compare trims and prices.

Is the 2022 Cadillac Escalade a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Cadillac Escalade earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.33/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise the smooth ride, advanced technology, and spacious interior. The OLED screens and larger cargo area also come up as recurring positives, which fits the Escalade’s role as a large luxury SUV built around presence and utility.

The main trade-offs are poor ride quality and interior materials that can feel cheap. In practical terms, that means you’re buying into a highly equipped, high-profile SUV that works best if you value space, tech, and status more than plush road manners.

With 30.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, there are still some attractive opportunities in the market.

Is the 2022 Cadillac Escalade reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with strong confidence in the vehicle over the long term. The expert review also highlights the Duramax diesel as a smooth, capable powertrain that had no trouble moving the Escalade in everyday driving.

Cadillac’s four-year, 80,000-kilometre basic warranty includes regular multi-point vehicle inspection, oil change, tire rotation, and air filter replacement, which adds some ownership reassurance. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a complex, technology-heavy luxury SUV can be costly to keep in top shape once warranty coverage ends.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Cadillac Escalade?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Luxury trim gets the Escalade’s big-screen tech and core luxury presence, but it misses some of the higher-grade safety content that appears on Premium Luxury and above. If you want the best-value balance of equipment and features, the mid-level Premium Luxury is the one to focus on.
• Powertrain: You can choose between a 6.2-litre gasoline V8 and a Duramax 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six diesel, both paired with a 10-speed automatic and standard 4WD in Canada. The diesel is the more efficient choice, while the gasoline engine has the slight towing advantage.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking front and rear, front and rear park assist, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, and Cadillac’s Safety Alert Seat. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and trailer blind-spot monitoring are standard on Premium Luxury and higher, while Super Cruise is unavailable on the base Luxury trim.
• Infotainment: The 38-inch curved OLED display is the headline feature, combining a 14.2-inch digital instrument cluster, a 16.9-inch touchscreen, and a 7.2-inch left-side screen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, along with Bluetooth and a built-in subscription-based Wi-Fi hotspot.
• Fuel efficiency: The gasoline V8 is rated at 16.3 L/100 km city, 12.7 highway, and 14.7 combined. The Duramax diesel is rated at 11.7 L/100 km city, 9.0 highway, and 10.5 combined.

Which 2022 Cadillac Escalade trim should I buy?

The 2022 Cadillac Escalade is offered in 5 trim levels: Luxury, Premium Luxury, Sport, Premium Luxury Platinum, and Sport Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• Luxury: This is the entry point, but it still gives you the Escalade’s core appeal: the huge OLED display, standard 4WD, and a strong list of driver-assistance features. It makes sense if you want the Escalade experience without stretching into the pricier trims, though you give up some of the higher-grade safety content.
• Premium Luxury: This is the best-value trim for most buyers because it adds the more complete safety package, including blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and trailer blind-spot monitoring. It also suits you if you want a more fully equipped Escalade without jumping to the Platinum models.
• Sport: Choose this if you prefer the darker exterior trim treatment and want the same core Escalade hardware with a more aggressive look.
• Premium Luxury Platinum: This is for buyers who want the most upscale equipment and are willing to pay for it. It builds on the Premium Luxury formula with the highest-end positioning in the range.
• Sport Platinum: Pick this if you want the top-end content with the Sport trim’s darker styling theme.

Super Cruise is unavailable on the base Luxury trim, so if hands-free highway driving matters to you, shop Premium Luxury or higher.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Cadillac Escalade?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you should be able to shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 30.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 93 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.22% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $81,573 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Cadillac Escalade's resale value?

The current average of $81,573 CAD sits slightly below last year's $87,923 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become a little more favourable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to be realistic if they want to move quickly. The Escalade’s strong technology appeal should help support demand, especially among shoppers who want a large luxury SUV with a strong presence.

At the same time, the price drop shows that even desirable luxury SUVs can lose some momentum when supply is healthy. If you buy well now and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you should be better positioned when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Cadillac Escalade safe?

The 2022 Cadillac Escalade earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver-assistance technology includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking front and rear, front and rear park assist, lane-keep assist, and lane-departure warning. Cadillac’s Safety Alert Seat also helps deliver warnings in a way that’s easy to notice.

Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and trailer blind-spot monitoring are standard on Premium Luxury and higher trim levels, while Super Cruise is a $2,875 option on most trims but is unavailable on the base Luxury model. That means the safety package is strong overall, but the base trim leaves some desirable features on the table.

Should I buy a 2022 Cadillac Escalade or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 30.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.22% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds Buckle to Drive, standard lane-keep assist and lane-departure warning on the base Luxury trim, and standard puddle lamps on Platinum models.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $78,678 CAD, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $81,573 CAD average.
• The redesign brought a bold new digital cabin and hands-free highway driving.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $96,386 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $81,573 CAD average.
• It carries over the same tech-rich formula with more utility-focused appeal.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the sweet spot if you want the updated Escalade formula without paying the newer-year premium. If price matters most, the 2021 is the better value play; if you want to spend more for a later model year, the 2023 is the next step up, but it asks for a lot more money.
