How much does the 2022 Audi A4 cost?

Prices have softened 11.90% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

Is the 2022 Audi A4 a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Audi A4 earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8.33/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, Technology, and Safety.

The A4 stands out as a compact luxury sports sedan that still feels fresh, with a rock-solid structure, modern technology, and strong safety credentials. It is also described as fun to drive and impressively equipped for the class.

The trade-offs are clear: the base engine is underwhelming, and the back seat is cramped, so you should weigh those compromises if you need stronger entry-level performance or more rear-seat space.

With 32.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2022 Audi A4 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The A4 is presented as a well-built sedan with a rock-solid structure and a strong overall impression even after several years on the market. Its refined powertrains and effective driver-assistance systems support the sense that it is engineered for dependable daily use.

The turbocharged four-cylinder engines are described as refined, and the car’s safety and technology systems are effective and non-intrusive in normal driving. The standard AWD system also adds confidence for year-round use.

If you buy used, the main long-term ownership risk is that the lower-output engine may feel underpowered for your needs, so it is worth making sure the version you choose matches how you drive.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Audi A4?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The A4 lineup includes Komfort, Progressiv, and Technik trim levels, and the feature set steps up as you move higher. The base version is the one most likely to leave you wanting more equipment, while the top trim brings the fullest safety and convenience package.
• Powertrain: The 40 TFSI uses a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder with 201 horsepower and 236 pound-feet of torque, while the 45 TFSI raises output to 261 horsepower and 273 pound-feet. Both use a seven-speed S-tronic dual-clutch automatic and standard Quattro Ultra AWD.
• Safety package: Audi Pre Sense includes front and rear collision preparation, forward-collision warning, and automatic emergency braking. Higher trims can also add lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, adaptive cruise control with Traffic Jam Assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, a safe exit warning system, a surround-view camera system, and Park Assist.
• Infotainment: The A4 uses a 10.1-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, Audi Connect, wireless smartphone charging, and available navigation. The system is easy to use, but the screen layout may not appeal to everyone.
• Fuel efficiency: The 40 TFSI earns 8.2 L/100 km in combined driving, while the 45 TFSI is rated at 8.8 L/100 km combined.

Which 2022 Audi A4 trim should I buy?

The 2022 Audi A4 is offered in 3 trim levels: Komfort, Progressiv, and Technik.

Here's the short version:

• Komfort: This is the trim to consider if you want the lowest entry price and the core A4 experience, including standard AWD and the model’s strong baseline luxury features. It makes the most sense if you value the badge, the standard equipment, and a lower purchase price over maximum performance or the fullest safety tech.
• Progressiv: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it should give you a stronger balance of equipment and price than the base model. If you want a more satisfying ownership experience without stretching to the top trim, this is the one to focus on first.
• Technik: This is the trim for you if you want the most complete A4, including the fullest safety and convenience content described in the test vehicle. It is the right pick if you want the most advanced version of the car and are willing to pay for it.

Audi Pre Sense is standard, while the more advanced driver-assistance features are added as you move up the trim ladder.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Audi A4?

This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to shop carefully and enough price softness to create opportunities.

• Deal availability: 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 78 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.90% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $27,848 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Audi A4's resale value?

The current average of $28,755 CAD sits slightly below last year's $32,638 CAD.

That price movement suggests the A4 has become more accessible for used buyers, which can make it easier for future sellers to attract interest if they price the car realistically. The current market also shows that demand is still supported by the model’s premium image, standard AWD, and strong safety reputation.

For you as a seller, that means condition, trim, and equipment will matter a lot when you go to list the car. A well-equipped example with the right mileage should still have a solid audience.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Audi A4 safe?

The 2022 Audi A4 gets a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and a five-star overall rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Audi Pre Sense includes front and rear collision preparation, forward-collision warning, and automatic emergency braking. Higher trims can also add lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, adaptive cruise control with Traffic Jam Assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, a safe exit warning system, a surround-view camera system, and Park Assist.

The main caveat is that the adaptive cruise control can react a bit slowly in changing traffic situations, so you should still stay engaged behind the wheel.

Should I buy a 2022 Audi A4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.90% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It still feels fresh, with modern technology and strong safety ratings.

The bottom line: If you want a used compact luxury sedan that still feels current, the 2022 A4 is the year to target. It gives you the core strengths of the model without feeling dated, and the current price trend makes it easier to justify shopping now. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can focus on the lower end of the market range and compare trims carefully to make sure you get the equipment you want.
