What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Acura MDX?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base MDX gets standard Jewel Eye LED headlights, a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, and a premium-feeling cabin, but the Tech grade adds navigation and a stronger audio system. The A-Spec and Platinum Elite trims bring more luxury and convenience, while the Platinum Elite adds the most upscale equipment.
• Powertrain: You get one engine choice: a naturally aspirated 3.5-litre V6 with 290 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic and Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive. It is standard in Canada, and the system’s torque vectoring helps sharpen cornering feel.
• Safety package: AcuraWatch is standard on all MDX models and includes collision mitigation emergency braking, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, lane-keeping assist, lane departure warning, road departure mitigation, traffic sign recognition, driver attention monitor, expanded pedestrian detection capability, blind spot monitoring, and traffic-jam assist.
• Infotainment: All MDX models get a 12.3-inch landscape-oriented infotainment display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Qi-compatible wireless charging, built-in Amazon Alexa, and over-the-air software updates. Navigation is standard on Tech and above.
• Fuel efficiency: No fuel-consumption figure is stated in the provided data.

Which 2022 Acura MDX trim should I buy?

The 2022 Acura MDX is offered in 4 trim levels: MDX, Tech, A-Spec, Platinum Elite.

Here's the short version:

• MDX: This is the entry point, but it still gives you the core MDX experience with standard all-wheel drive, the 12.3-inch infotainment system, wireless smartphone integration, and the full AcuraWatch safety suite. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and are comfortable skipping some luxury extras.
• Tech: This is the best-value trim. It adds navigation and a stronger ELS audio system, which makes it the sweet spot if you want the most useful upgrades without jumping too far in price.
• A-Spec: Choose this if you want the sportiest appearance and the upgraded ELS Studio 3D Premium Audio System. It suits you best if style and sound matter more than pure value.
• Platinum Elite: This is the most luxurious version, with the richest equipment list, including the head-up display and surround-view camera. It is the right pick if you want the most premium MDX experience.

The AcuraWatch safety suite is standard across the lineup, so you do not need to move up trims for core driver assistance.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Acura MDX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 96 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.68% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $41,930 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Acura MDX's resale value?

The current average of $41,937 CAD sits slightly below last year's $48,580 CAD.

That decline suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, which can make the MDX easier to purchase now but may also temper near-term resale expectations for future sellers. If you buy at today’s lower average, you may have less depreciation pressure than someone who bought when prices were higher. The model’s broad appeal as a luxury three-row crossover should still help support demand, especially among shoppers who value comfort and practicality.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Acura MDX safe?

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The MDX also adds low-speed braking control with sonar-based object detection and autonomous braking support.

Should I buy a 2022 Acura MDX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.68% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It brings a new platform, sharper design, and a more refined cabin.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $48,064 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $41,937 CAD average.
• It adds a more style-focused, modernised presentation.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the better value if you want the redesigned MDX at a lower price and with strong owner satisfaction. If you are willing to pay more for a newer model-year listing, the 2023 is the secondary path to consider.
