Yes — the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC earns a 4.5/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise its smooth ride, comfort, and advanced tech features, and many describe it as stylish and well equipped. That lines up with the GLC’s role as a compact luxury SUV that aims to balance everyday usability with a polished, premium feel. What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The entry-level GLC 300 includes 19-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, a power liftgate, synthetic leather upholstery, power-adjustable front seats, heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, dual USB ports, a fully digital instrument panel, and the MBUX infotainment system. If you want more convenience and tech, look for packages that add navigation, a larger touchscreen, a wireless phone charger, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, illuminated door sills, kick-activated tailgate operation, and ambient lighting.
• Powertrain: The GLC 300 uses a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder with 255 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque, paired with a nine-speed automatic and 4MATIC all-wheel drive. It is described as responsive and refined, with enough power for everyday driving and only occasional lag from a stop. If you want more performance, the AMG versions add substantially more power.
• Safety package: To get the GLC’s best safety tech in Canada, you need the Intelligent Drive Package, which adds automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, dynamic cruise control, and lane departure warning. Parking sensors and hands-free parking assist are part of the Premium Plus Package, so base vehicles may not have the full safety and parking feature set.
• Infotainment: The Premium Package brings MBUX with a 10.25-inch centre touchscreen, a centre console touch controller, and advanced voice control that can handle complex commands. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, and the system is generally intuitive once you learn the controls.
• Fuel efficiency: The base GLC 300 returns 11.3 L/100 km in the city, 8.5 on the highway, and 10.0 combined. In mixed driving, the test vehicle averaged 10.0 L/100 km. The AMG GLC 43 and AMG GLC 63 S use more fuel, so efficiency drops noticeably if you shop those versions.

Which 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC trim should I buy?

The 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC is offered in 3 trim levels: GLC 300, AMG GLC 43, AMG GLC 63 S.

Here's the short version:

• GLC 300: This is the best-value choice for most shoppers because it delivers the core GLC experience: a refined ride, strong standard equipment, and the most efficient fuel consumption in the range. It suits you best if you want the luxury feel and everyday usability without paying for extra performance you may not need.
• AMG GLC 43: Choose this if you want a much stronger powertrain and a more performance-focused setup, along with 20-inch wheels, adaptive air suspension, and sport seats. It is the right pick if you care more about acceleration and sharper character than running costs.
• AMG GLC 63 S: This is the top performance choice, adding the most powerful engine in the lineup and the same performance-oriented upgrades as the AMG GLC 43, plus the Premium Rear Seat Package. It makes sense if you want maximum output and are willing to accept the higher fuel use and purchase price.

The safety-package note still applies: the most important driver-assistance features are bundled in the Intelligent Drive Package, so check carefully before you buy.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.

• Deal availability: 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 345 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.81% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $34,464 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC's resale value?

The current average of $34,557 CAD sits slightly below last year's $40,564 CAD.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more affordably today. For a future seller, it also means resale value may be more sensitive to condition, mileage, and equipment than it would be in a stronger pricing environment. Well-kept examples with desirable packages should still attract attention, but you should expect buyers to be selective.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC safe?

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

To equip the GLC with its best safety tech, such as automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, dynamic cruise control, and lane departure warning, Canadians need to purchase the $2,700 Intelligent Drive Package. Parking sensors and hands-free parking assist are part of the Premium Plus Package.

One caveat is that the parking and proximity sensors can be overly sensitive, which may be distracting in tight traffic or at busy intersections. If you are comparing used examples, it is worth checking whether the safety and parking packages are included, since base vehicles may not have the full suite.

Should I buy a 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.81% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2021 stands out for its refined balance of athletic and comfortable driving dynamics, plus an upscale cabin and advanced infotainment.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of price, equipment, and owner satisfaction, the 2021 is the one to focus on. If you are especially price-sensitive, nearby model years may still be worth comparing, but the 2021’s softer pricing and broad appeal make it a smart place to start.
