Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Kia Sportage?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 288 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.98% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $18,945 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Kia Sportage's resale value?

The current average of $19,013 CAD sits slightly below last year's $21,849 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the Sportage is currently more buyer-friendly than seller-friendly, which can make it easier to purchase now but may temper short-term resale gains. If you buy at the right price, you may have less downside risk than someone who paid closer to last year’s average.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2021 Kia Sportage or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.98% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $21,551 CAD, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $19,013 CAD average.
• It adds a fresher trim mix and a more up-to-date lineup.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2021 if you want the better value and a strong owner satisfaction record. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer model-year update and a broader trim strategy, the 2022 is the better secondary path.
