Why it stands out
The 2021 Jeep Compass stands out because it blends Jeep styling with a compact SUV shape and, when properly equipped, low-range gearing for off-road use. By this generation, it had moved far beyond the original Compass in refinement and packaging, with a new chassis and powertrain, more cargo space, and much better tech, design, and interior quality. It was also notably more capable than many buyers might expect from an entry-level Jeep, especially in all-wheel-drive form.
For 2021, the Compass also gained a stronger safety and convenience story. Limited and Trailhawk trims came standard with the formerly optional driver-assistance features, including rain-sensing wipers, while heated front seats became standard in Canada. A heated steering wheel and remote start became standard on the North and Trailhawk trims, and the six-speed manual was discontinued. Those changes made the Compass easier to live with, even if its basic engine remained a weak point in earlier years of this generation.
That said, the Compass still had limitations that shoppers should know about. The 2.4-litre inline-four was described as noisy, harsh, and slow, and the troublesome nine-speed automatic was a drawback on many versions. Even so, the 2021 Compass remained appealing for buyers who wanted Jeep character, available off-road hardware, and a more polished cabin than the model had offered before.

Great car. Kinda like a baby Grand Cherokee, which I love. I love the look of the Grand Cherokee, but prefer having a smaller car, so this is perfect.

The Trailhawk package is exactly what we needed for living on rural country roads. It’s perfect for us. Only additional features I’d wanted is heated seats

I had a 2016 Jeep Compass and after test driving the 2021 Trail Hawk edition I had to have one! Jeep has made some major improvements. First of all it rides much better. I can’t say it doesn’t ride like a Jeep but it’s improved suspension makes the ride nicer. Second thing I noticed is the noise level. With the new models it rides much quieter than the older models. I like the more streamlined look too; it doesn’t look as bulky around the rear tires. All the technology they packed into it is just the icing on the cake! I can’t really compare it to other vehicles outside the Jeep brand because I’ve owned Jeep’s since 1998 but this is probably my second favorite Jeep I’ve owned. My number one favorite was my first one so I’m sure that’s simply nostalgia talking!

This car has wonderful features! This car has outstanding value for someone! This car is missing push-to-start and remote start. I compare this to a Chevrolet Traverse.
