Is the 2021 Hyundai Tucson a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Hyundai Tucson earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its comfort, great handling, and impressive features for the price, and the Tucson’s practical, everyday-friendly nature makes it a sensible fit if you want a compact SUV that feels well equipped without being excessive. For shoppers who value usability and value over flash, that combination is especially appealing. Is the 2021 Hyundai Tucson reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable in daily use, with comfort and features that continue to satisfy over time. That kind of positive ownership experience matters when you’re looking at a used SUV, because it suggests the Tucson has been trouble-free enough for many buyers to recommend it. For used shoppers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the specific vehicle you choose has been maintained properly and drives as expected.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Hyundai Tucson?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 479 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.12% compared with last year.

What is the 2021 Hyundai Tucson's resale value?

The current average of $20,402 CAD sits slightly below last year's $23,217 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Tucson has become more affordable for buyers, which can make it easier to sell into a broader pool of shoppers later. For you as a future seller, the softer market means resale expectations should be realistic, especially if you’re comparing against what similar vehicles brought a year ago. Even so, the Tucson’s steady owner satisfaction helps support ongoing demand. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2021 Hyundai Tucson or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.12% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $22,730 CAD, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $20,402 CAD average.
• It adds a redesigned body with more space.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2021 is the smarter starting point because it combines strong owner satisfaction with a lower average price. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer redesign and extra space, the 2022 is the better upgrade path.
