The owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with drivers highlighting the Terrain’s value, smooth ride, and fuel efficiency over the long term. What is the 2021 GMC Terrain's resale value?

The current average of $21,547 CAD sits slightly below last year's $25,184 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Terrain has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future sellers if the market stabilises. If you buy at the right price now, you may have less downside left than you would with a vehicle that is still dropping quickly. The Terrain’s strong owner satisfaction can also help support demand when it is time to sell. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2021 GMC Terrain or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.44% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $24,505 CAD, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $21,547 CAD average.
• It adds an AT4 trim with standard all-wheel drive and a more rugged appearance.

The bottom line: The 2021 is the better starting point if you want the strongest value and a lower entry price, especially since the market already shows meaningful discounting. If you are willing to spend more for the 2022’s added trim and rugged styling, that can make sense, but price-sensitive buyers should focus on the 2021 and shop for one of the better-priced listings.
