What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Chevrolet Blazer?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LT and True North are the entry points, while RS and Premier bring more upscale or sport-focused equipment. The cabin is described as dark and unsatisfying in lower-spec form, so you should pay close attention to material quality and feature content before choosing a trim.
• Powertrain: You get a 2.0-litre turbo four-cylinder with 227 hp and 258 lb-ft, or a 3.6-litre V6 with 308 hp and 270 lb-ft. The V6 is the preferred engine, and the RS adds a sport-tuned suspension, brakes, and steering.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision alert, forward automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-keep assist, lane departure warning, and automatic high beams. Blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are available on Premier trims, and enhanced forward emergency braking is only available on top trims.
• Infotainment: Every Blazer gets an 8-inch touchscreen with Chevrolet Infotainment 3, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a subscription-based 4G WiFi hotspot. A Plus version adds navigation with traffic, onboard apps, better voice recognition, and two-phone pairing.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada ratings are 12.0 L/100 km city, 8.7 L/100 km highway, and 10.5 L/100 km combined for the AWD V6 drivetrain. The AWD turbo inline-four is rated at 10.6 L/100 km city, 8.0 L/100 km highway, and 9.4 L/100 km combined.

Which 2021 Chevrolet Blazer trim should I buy?

The 2021 Chevrolet Blazer is offered in 4 trim levels: LT, True North, RS, Premier.

Here's the short version:

• LT: This is the entry point, and it makes sense if you want the Blazer’s styling and core tech without stretching too far. It’s the trim to compare first if you’re shopping on value.
• True North: This trim sits above the LT and is a better fit if you want a bit more equipment while staying away from the pricier sport and luxury-oriented versions.
• RS: This is the best choice if you want the Blazer’s sportiest character. It gets the V6 standard, plus the sport-tuned suspension, brakes, and steering that suit the model’s handling focus.
• Premier: This is the trim to consider if you want the most upscale version of the Blazer, including the available saddle tan leather and the safety features that are reserved for top trims.

Blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are available on Premier trims, while enhanced forward emergency braking is only available on top trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Chevrolet Blazer?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it pays to compare listings carefully and move quickly on well-priced examples.

• Deal availability: 31.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 79 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.38% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $25,699 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Chevrolet Blazer's resale value?

The current average of $25,716 CAD sits slightly below last year's $30,390 CAD.

That decline suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means a future seller may face softer pricing if demand stays cautious. The Blazer’s premium positioning and styling appeal can still support interest, especially among shoppers who value design and driving feel. Even so, its resale outlook depends on how well it continues to stand out against more practical or better-finished rivals.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.88/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Chevrolet Blazer safe?

The 2021 Chevrolet Blazer earns five-star ratings from NHTSA overall and in all three crash tests, though the front passenger scored four-star in the frontal crash and the vehicle scored four-star in the rollover test. It also earns top Good ratings from IIHS in all crash tests, but Marginal and Poor ratings for headlights.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes forward collision alert, forward automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-keep assist, lane departure warning, and automatic high beams. Blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are available on Premier trims, while enhanced forward emergency braking is reserved for top trims. The Blazer does not offer a semi-automated traffic function, and the steering wheel will not proactively turn when cruise control is on.

Should I buy a 2021 Chevrolet Blazer or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 31.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.38% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.88/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines sporty styling with strong handling and a high Technology score.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $28,991 CAD, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $25,716 CAD average.
• It adds up to 1,818 litres of cargo space.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2021 is the smarter buy because prices have eased and the market still offers some deal opportunities. If you’re willing to spend more for the next model year, the 2022 is the better path for buyers who want the newer alternative.
