CarGurus Analysis: 2021 Audi Q7

Summary
With 13 currently listed for sale and an average price of $30,404 CAD, 15.4% of 2021 Audi Q7 listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2021 Audi Q7 5 / 5 stars.
Why it stands out
The 2021 Audi Q7 stands out as a three-row luxury SUV that blends clean, angular styling with a practical cabin and strong road manners. It offers comfortable and spacious front and second-row seating, while the third row is best left for children. Cargo space is generous for the class, with 419 litres behind the third row, 1,061 litres with it folded, and a maximum of 2,027 litres. The interior can feel somewhat cold and technical, but the overall design is tidy and well resolved, and the vehicle’s uncluttered look has aged well.
Technology is a major part of the Q7’s appeal. For 2021, it includes Audi Virtual Cockpit, an upper touchscreen for infotainment functions, a head-up display, and a lower touchscreen for climate controls and other functions. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto were available in the Q7 for the first time in this generation, and safety equipment expanded over time, including lane guidance as standard or optional equipment. It also performed well in crash tests conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety since 2017, although headlight performance was consistently poor through 2023.
For buyers, the 2021 Q7’s strongest case is its balance of comfort, performance, and towing ability. The turbocharged V6 is the better engine choice, and it provides 3,500 kilograms of towing capacity. The base turbocharged four-cylinder is more affordable, but it does not provide enough power and its fuel economy fails to impress. Owners also praise the smooth ride, powerful handling, and luxurious features, though the Q7’s high price tag and premium-fuel requirement remain part of the ownership equation.

After test driving all the major competition SUVs (Mercedes GLE, GLS, Porsche Cayenne, BMW X5, X7,Lexus RX350, Acura MDX) I decided to buy the Q7 because of an unparalleled driving experience, steering responsiveness, suspensions, quiet ride, confort and technology. The drive home from the dealership last night was sublime!

I have had 3 Q7s,and they all have been great machines, they are expensive but just amazing driving machines. The first one I drove back and forth from Arizona to the east coast, driving it ws a thing of joy to drive it. The other two did not go to east coast but lovd them as well. Honestly dont know any comparable vehicles to the Q7. The car is at its best with adaptive air suspension and warm weather coooling option.

| Year-Round Low | $33,684 CAD |
| Year-Round High | $41,765 CAD |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $41,765 CAD |

There are 116 listings available, which gives you a reasonable amount of choice in the used market.
Is the 2021 Audi Q7 a good car?
Yes — the 2021 Audi Q7 earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction.
Owners consistently praise its comfort, performance, and driving experience. The smooth ride and powerful handling come up often, along with its luxurious features. That fits well if you want a three-row luxury SUV with a practical cabin and strong road manners.
With 35.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitively priced example.
Is the 2021 Audi Q7 reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback highlights a dependable-feeling ownership experience, with repeated praise for comfort, performance, and a trouble-free driving experience. The Q7’s strong owner sentiment suggests many buyers feel confident living with it over the long term.
For used buyers, the main ownership risk is less about satisfaction and more about making sure the vehicle has been maintained properly, especially given its premium positioning.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Audi Q7?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.
- Deal availability: 35.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 116 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 19.29% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $33,684 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2021 Audi Q7's resale value?
The current average of $33,708 CAD sits slightly below last year's $41,765 CAD.
That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at today's average, your future resale value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained.
Because the Q7 still has strong owner appeal, demand should remain solid among shoppers looking for a luxury three-row SUV. That helps support resale value, even if the broader market has softened.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2021 Audi Q7 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2021 if:
- 35.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 19.29% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2020 if:
- At $34,988 CAD, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $33,708 CAD average.
- It brings a refreshed design and updated technology.
The bottom line: The 2021 is the better primary choice if you want the stronger value proposition and a well-liked ownership experience. If you're price-sensitive, the 2020 can still make sense when you find one in especially good condition, but you should expect to pay more on average.
