How much does the 2021 Acura RDX cost?

Prices have softened 7.61% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 168 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of choice in the used market.

Is the 2021 Acura RDX a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Acura RDX earns a 4.7/5 user rating and an 8.2/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Cost effectiveness.

Owners consistently praise its value, comfort, fun driving experience, spacious interior, and stylish design. That lines up well with the RDX’s compact luxury crossover role: you get a practical daily driver with premium character and a modern cabin feel.

For you, that means the RDX makes the most sense if you want a luxury SUV that balances everyday usability with a more engaging personality. 28.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities in the market.

Is the 2021 Acura RDX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable and well-received over time, with praise centred on comfort, value, and a driving experience people enjoy living with. The expert assessment also describes the RDX as a strong all-around package with high safety ratings and quality materials, which supports confidence in day-to-day ownership.

Acura’s standard safety and drivetrain setup should help the RDX feel reassuring over the long haul, though you should still pay close attention to maintenance history and any signs of neglected use on a used example.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Acura RDX?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base trim includes the core luxury and safety experience, but you need to move up to the Tech trim at a minimum to get blind-spot warning and rear cross-traffic alert. The A-Spec adds sportier styling and interior details, while the Elite and Platinum Elite bring additional premium touches.
• Powertrain: Every model uses a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 272 horsepower and a 10-speed automatic transmission. SH-AWD is standard, and the driving character is tuned for a lively, engaging feel.
• Safety package: AcuraWatch-style equipment includes adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, forward-collision warning, and automatic emergency braking. Blind-spot warning and rear cross-traffic alert are not standard on the base trim.
• Infotainment: The RDX uses Acura’s True Touchpad Interface with a non-touchscreen setup, plus standard satellite radio, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi tethering. Navigation is available, but the interface takes some getting used to.
• Fuel efficiency: Some owners have been disappointed by fuel economy, so it’s worth checking whether the vehicle’s real-world consumption fits your driving habits.

Which 2021 Acura RDX trim should I buy?

The 2021 Acura RDX is offered in 5 trim levels: Base, Tech, A-Spec, Elite, Platinum Elite.

Here's the short version:

• Base: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core RDX experience with standard SH-AWD and the main safety suite, but you miss out on blind-spot warning and rear cross-traffic alert. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting point and can live without those extras.
• Tech: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the missing blind-spot warning and rear cross-traffic alert while keeping the RDX’s core strengths intact. If you want the smartest balance of equipment and price, this is the one to target.
• A-Spec: Choose this if you want the sportiest look and a more distinctive cabin, including front sport seats, red stitching, a sport steering wheel, and unique trim details. It suits you best if style matters as much as substance.
• Elite: This trim leans more toward premium comfort and refinement, with fewer styling changes than the A-Spec. It’s a good fit if you want a more upscale feel without chasing the top model.
• Platinum Elite: This is the top trim and brings the most complete luxury experience, including the most premium equipment in the range. It’s the right pick if you want the fullest feature set and are willing to pay for it.

For safety-package shoppers, the Tech trim is the key step up because it adds blind-spot warning and rear cross-traffic alert.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Acura RDX?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers: there’s enough inventory to shop carefully, but the best-priced examples can still move quickly.

• Deal availability: 28.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 168 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.61% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $32,875 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Acura RDX's resale value?

The current average of $32,914 CAD sits slightly below last year's $35,625 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive resale environment if prices stay under pressure. If you buy well now, you may have less downside risk than someone who purchased when prices were higher.

The RDX’s strong owner satisfaction should help support demand when it’s time to sell. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Acura RDX safe?

The 2021 Acura RDX earns a 2020 calendar-year “Top Safety Pick+” rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and a five-star overall rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). It earns four-star frontal-impact and four-star rollover resistance crash-test ratings from the NHTSA.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Every RDX includes adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, forward-collision warning, and automatic emergency braking. If you want blind-spot warning and rear cross-traffic alert, you need to move up to the Tech trim at a minimum.

One caveat is that the base trim leaves out some useful driver-assistance features, so safety-minded shoppers should pay close attention to trim choice.

Should I buy a 2021 Acura RDX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 28.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.61% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines the latest Acura design direction with the rethought True Touchpad Interface and strong overall value.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $29,575 CAD, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $32,914 CAD average.
• It offers strong value with plenty of space, comfort, and safety tech.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $37,621 CAD, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $32,914 CAD average.
• It adds fresh styling, a quieter cabin, and more equipment.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, modern features, and overall appeal, the 2021 is the sweet spot. If you’re more price-sensitive, the 2020 is the better value play; if you want newer updates and can spend more, the 2022 is worth a look.
