How much does the 2020 Volkswagen Tiguan cost?

Prices have softened 17.98% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 426 listings available, which suggests a healthy amount of inventory for you to compare.

Is the 2020 Volkswagen Tiguan a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Volkswagen Tiguan earns a 4.9/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its value, space, and quality, and they often highlight the roomy interior and smooth handling. That fits well if you want a compact SUV that feels more upscale than its price might suggest and offers the flexibility of a seven-seat layout. With 31.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2020 Volkswagen Tiguan reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a vehicle that many people find dependable in day-to-day use, with praise centred on its value, space, and quality. That said, the model’s reputation includes engine, electrical, and infotainment concerns, so a careful inspection matters before you commit. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is ending up with a poorly maintained example, so service history and a thorough pre-purchase check are especially important.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Volkswagen Tiguan?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be patient and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 426 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.98% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $19,254 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Volkswagen Tiguan's resale value?

The current average of $19,259 CAD sits slightly below last year's $23,479 CAD.

That drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the Tiguan more attractive to you as a buyer today. For a future seller, it also means resale value may be more sensitive to condition, mileage, and equipment than to broad market momentum alone. If you keep the vehicle well maintained, the combination of strong owner satisfaction and practical appeal should help support demand when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Volkswagen Tiguan or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.98% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a used compact SUV with a roomy cabin, a premium-leaning feel, and strong owner approval, the 2020 Tiguan is the one to focus on. If your priority is stretching your budget as far as possible, you can also look at nearby years, but the 2020 stands out as a sensible target when you find a well-priced example with good history.
